Hi Warrior's! Today I did 3 miles in 47:34 minutes.

I found a race in October to keep me motivated through the summer. I am doing the Maine Half Marathon. I'm excited!!!!!

WOO HOO, Barb! I am doing it too! We will have to connect at some point! :goodvibes

Stacie--way to go on completing both races! How did Susan do? I have been thinking about her!

Amy--welcome! We always have room for another Warrior!

Exercise time and mileage for today:

16 miles on the bike (this is a first for me...I never bike. But my IT bands are killing me, so I had to do something other than run).

Jen - Did you decide if you were going ot keep running or not? If you listen to your body, tehn you should be fine. SOunds like the body says run! ;)

To our FL members - SOrry about the heat. I'm still looking forward to nights warmer than the 40s.

Amy - So sorry we didn't get to meet you! It was so hard for me to walk up to my first WISHers. (post half, 2006) The first one I remeber speaking to is now one of my closest friends (TXBelle). First time was tough and soemtimes I am still overwhlmed by bigger meets, but it is soooo worthwhile!!!

Tracy - You are now linked. Yay!

Erika - Glad you're doing better!

Dave - SOrry about the ycuky run. You'll get 'em next time!

Becky - Can you post your times from Minnie weekend?

Barb - Forgot to say how glad I am that you came right back post CMM!!!!

Carrie- Yep, I'm still trying to run. My main goal was the Minnie, and Becky helped me run almost every bit of it (slowing down for pictures and water doesn't count as stopping in my book!) I really hadn't planned on much afterwards. I'll just keep slowly running until I can't stand it anymore... then on to walking.

My mom and I are doing the half in January. I assumed as a first-timer her goal would be to beat the sweepers. Well, lately she's been incorporating running into her workouts! If I don't try to stay in shape so I can rebuild post-baby, my mom's going to leave me in the dust! :rotfl:

Amykab- the whole "I'm going to be humiliated by my mother at the half" idea combined with the fact that I'm terrified I'll never start running again if I stop is why I still run... (and I take off tons of days).

Sorry team, all about me... again.

Jen in GA

If it can count for anything, My 15K time was 2:13:49 and 5K was 41:40...

Just wondering if anyone is planning on doing both the 1/2 in january AND the princess 1/2 in March (Must Have the Tiara Medal!) . Is that just too close together training wise? I am new to running/jogging/walking races so any input you could give would be great  Since I am sort of local, travel expenses aren't too much of a consideration..

Amy - I did a half in April and trained fro teh Minnie like a half. I'm pretty sure I could have done it. However, I was coming off a full in January adn took no time off after. WIll you be doigna half before January? How do your legs feel now? Could you do LRs something like 3, 5, 8, 10, 6, 5 starting this past Saturday? I think it can be done, but I think you would need to do more than just teh MfM training pre-marathon weekend.

Stacie--way to go on completing both races! How did Susan do? I have been thinking about her!

Thanks for asking! She did great! She FINISHED and got her medal! She will be writing a TR soon in her journal. In the mean time you can check out my journal for some pics! I've only done Day 1, but hope to get more up tonight.

Stacie

Hi everyone,

I did a 7k on Saturday, 44:22. Double miles woo hoo! Also a better time than I thought I would do.

Hey this is my last post before we head home on thurs :scared1: It's been such a lovely holiday tho and i have definitely restocked my wardrobe for this summer! The exchange rate is great for us. Just a 30min swim to report for me and my arm did not enjoy it, i once again have one arm that ate all the pies  oh well i'm off to see mickey again tomorrow at MK so nothing can get me down, yay.

Jim I wanted to check in on you too- been watching all the crazy wildfires in brevard county and daytona and wondered if you've been called in or if you're far enough away? Hope everything's ok where you are and very pleased you got registered for the 5km- i'd love it if my parents would run too.

Stacie- happy to hear you're home ok and aced the 5 and 15km. Knew you would as you're so determined. Hope you had a good time too.

Amy- welcome to the warriers. I was terrified going to the WISH meet on sat minnie wknd this year. It's really weird how i'll quite happily type away to you guys but it's somehow scary seeing ppl face to face. It would've been lovely to meet you but maybe we'll see you soon :thumbsup2

Jeff- that's a great time and double miles again whoop!

Jen i'm so impressed that you're still running and running fantastically too. I saw a baby jogger at a shop called 'track shack' in orlando (had to get my friend the new garmin!) and they look amazing. Can't work out how you run and control those things tho :rotfl: Not that i have to worry about that anyway :rotfl2:

Erika- sorry about your IT band i have a lot of sympathy for you. How do you find cycling because i found that sore too? Well done on that fantastic mileage tho.

Carrie thanks for updating the week reports, we look pretty good this week.

Welcome Amy!!!!:cheer2:

Just got back from Muddy Buddy at Disney World . Got in 6.10 mile run and bike in 1:10.

Kate: Hope you time here hasn't left you a pile of mush melted on the pavement!!

AMY: I am definately for doing WDW marathon weekend in Jan and the Princess half in March (If you can afford it.) For Disney it just seems kinda close together and as stated before it is a busy time of year.
I did 3 half marathons in a 7week spam, but I am kinda crazy like that. I just did 3 races/walks in a 9 days period. But now I don't have anything until the DL Half in August.

Carrie: Thanks for gettingall of our numbers and linking me. Whoo hoo!!

Grumpy: yeah for you on a great time!!

As for me:.....NADA for me today, sorry. Today is my rest day and not sure how much I will get in this week , next week I start some training for the DL 1/2. Have a great evening and don't for get to vote for Jason Taylor and Kristy Yamaguchi today in Dancing with the Stars. hehe

Thanks for all the welcomes! :yay: And all the thoughts on doing both the January half and princess half. I think I will probably end up doing both. I doubt I'll do an official half before january, probably some 5K's and possibly the TOT 13K.

I did 3 miles today on the TM in 45 min exactly. not too bad after a week off
I threw in a little incline work at a slower pace so that slowed me down a bit. Does anyone feel they just go faster outside? and even faster at Disney? :) I definitely do.

We had a little "cold" front come through FL last night. Humidity is gone again. I might be able to get in some outside runs this week.

I do look forward to meeting some of you at the half in january and maybe even at the TOT 13K. :)

AmyKab: Hmmmm, now that you say that I think everyone tends to go faster at Disney. It's like you get sprinkled with pixie dust as you cross the start line pixiedust: (sprinkle, sprinkle) and the wonderful disney magic takes over. At least that's the way it feels for me. Maybe if you get some extra pixie dust you may tend to fly just a bit. :rotfl:

Carrie - Sorry I spaced on posting my times. 5k - 32:20 and 15k - 1:48:04

Amy - Welcome to the team!! I am planning on doing the half in Jan and the new princess half. Actually I am doing the goofy in January, so maybe you shouldn't go by my judgement - obviously I am a little crazy!

Becky

Welcome to our great team Warrior Amy!!! Today I did 3.15 miles in 50 minutes.

I would love to meet my Maine neighbor in October! I've heard it's a fun race.

Greetings Everyone: I did 5.39 miles last night in 51:01 min/9:28 mpm pace. The best thing was DD7 pooh: rode her bike beside me the whole way. It was a great evening.

I'm so excited...I finally get to report some time!
4 miles - 41 minutes on Sunday
.5 mile swim - 90 minute total workout

It's so nice to be back working out! :cloud9:
I could tell I was getting to be a GROUCH!
