Whenever we ride the Tomorrowland Transit Authority (formerly Wedway People Mover) in MK, we always enjoy seeing the Model of Walt's vision of Epcot. When it was first placed there, it was a real live working model, with lights, cars, and trains/monorails. Over the years it has fallen in disrepair and no longer really functions. We find this very sad, because although it is not really what EPCOT turned out to be, it was Walt's vision. Does anyone know why it has been allowed to just go away without any attempt to keep it going? I know this is not of the same size project or visibility as the Carousel of Progress, but surely it would be easier and much less expensive to give it the attention it needs to keep it going.

Ideas anyone?

Don't know why they don't keep it up, but I agree with you that they should maintain it.

They have been cutting back on maintenance since the late 1990s, unfortunately. And it's starting to show...

I have noticed this also. I think its kind of depressing to see things like that fall into disrepair.

They might be ashamed of it....the Epcot of today bears little resemblence (I think) to what Walt would have wanted but then that is what happens to ex-family companies that start to lose their vision

Thanks

Ahhh it may not resemble the EPCOT of today, but have you noticed how closely it DOES resemble the town of Celebration?
