I have a desk, a coffee table, and two end tables that were given to me and I was told it was purchased at a walt disney auction and were possibly in one of walt's offices. Does anyone know how to authenticate items like these.

Unless the desk came with a certificate of authenticy, it would be highly unlikely that it was something the Walt actually used. First, I'd try to trace this back up the ownership chain. Can you find any documentation of the auction in the first place? If so, was this represented in the auction documents as stuff from Disney?

If you're successful there, you might take pictures (and the related documentation) and send them off to Dave Thomas at Disney headquarters. He's the head archivist at Disney and would be best equiped to say if it came from Walt's office.

Last time I looked it was Dave Smith who has been the first and only Archivist at Disney.

LOL, Isn't Dave thomas the Wendy's guy? I don't think you can ask him about the desk, he died last year. Peggie

I knew something was wrong when I typed that - I just couldn't figure out what it was. Thanks for the correction. :cool1:
