Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

@persnickity I am sure the buses will continue to run to get you back to S/D. You can decide your best option that night; either the short walk to the Disney buses and then go to YC/BC or BW or stroll down to take the monorail or ferry to TTC if the Ferry & Monorail isn't packed then that's probably easier.

Thank you!

I got it figured out. I finally got a hold of someone on the "Help Center" chat on My Disney Experience. They actually got the problem solved pretty quick. It is just wild that this is a situation. My lesson learned for WDW Swan/Dolphin or any Disney Neighboring Resorts would be to get everyone's MDE accounts put together before linking the reservation. Otherwise, it is sort of a nightmare.

Yes, I have a microwave. I don’t understand about stacking the breakfast coupons. They are dated and valid for the member and one guest. They can be upgraded. For example, you can upgrade from the continental buffet to the full buffet for $15.99. I did this. The buffet is small but the quality is very good. I’d say better than the garden grove buffet. There is no custom omelet or eggs station. They do have eggs Benedict on the buffet. I just heard a server tell another table that omelets can be ordered if you are getting the buffet.

Thanks! What room type are you in that includes a microwave in the room?

For the coupons -- I was wondering if they are letting people use more than 1 coupon on the same day. That seems to be possible at Swan/Dolphin but wasn't sure about here. Also, I thought the upgrade to full buffet at Garden Grove was only $8/pp, so this seems to be more? I wonder if you can use the coupon at Garden Grove...

I’m in a signature suite. It’s a one bedroom suite. I still don’t understand the question about breakfast? The coupons have dates on them, so you use one each day. I don’t think you can redeem a coupon for a different day. Are you trying to give the coupons to someone else? I don’t think you can do that because they do ask for your name / room number I believe? Yes, coupons can be used over at garden grove or fresh (I think that’s the name of the dolphin. One?)

Currently, I am on the phone with WDW at minute 56 of being on hold to make a simple change of the guest on My Disney Experience, which cannot be done on MDE with a WDW Swan reservation. Does anyone know how to make this change without talking to Disney themselves. It is insane to have a 90+ minute to possibly make a simple change.
Not sure what the deal is but I booked 3rd party so only 2 of us on reservations.. I changed it at the resort directly... so my kids could use early moring hours.

Thanks!! Since our room would be me, my wife, and our 2 kids, and we are staying multiple nights, my preference would be to use them together for one breakfast for all four of us rather than 2 at a time. I have done that in the past when staying at Dolphin. I also heard you could use them for in room dining, so that could be an option — order something to dine in and then supplement with the microwave.
thanks!!!

You can absolutely use them for in-room dining. They seem to encourage that for breakfast. I was seated near the open kitchen and I’d say maybe 30%-40% of the orders I heard the chef calling were for in-room.
In the situation you describe (wanting to use them for your kids), I can’t see why that would be a problem at all! They do have a special kids menu with things like Mickey waffles. They also have a small store that’s sort of like Fuel over at the dolphin so you can get little bowls of Cheerios, milk/almond milk/soy milk, the breakfast sandwiches, wine, beer, canned Negronis (seriously? Just go to the bar for God’s sake!😀) and of course a small assortment of salty and sweet snacks (chips, candy bars, etc).

Swan Reserve:
Hoping someone can report back if a standard room has a microwave. Wondering if the Signature Suite has it only. They have that huge dining table, so I could see why they might also get a microwave while the standard room may not.

What is currently the best option for transport to MCO from the D/S? Uber or town car? I'.m thinking about reliability and cost.

Thanks!

@la la limon Uber/Lyft work great, but if you have kids with car seats not so much. Town car is better for that and if you want a grocery stop. The other option you'll have starting in January is the new Mears replacement for Magic Express.
Maybe Minnie Vans are making a return, soon?

Not inexpensive though.

I have several trips booked this year and next, to both the Swan and Dolphin. Have not had any problems with the reservation #'s pulling to the Disney site until last week. Booked a February trip through Bonvoy app. Tried for over a week to pull the confirmation number to Disney app. Finally called Disney Friday. Was on hold for 3 hours. Very nice cast member tried to help. She couldn't find the reservation #. She sent an email to Marriott. Hopefully it will get straightened out.

UPDATE

Now I have lost everything on my Disney app via my phone. No hotel reservations ( there are several) no park reservations ( there are several) and no dinning. But if I log in using a PC, everything is there. Well sort of. One of my Swan reservations dropped off. I just re-added.

So, I called Disney again. Was on hold for 2 hours. ( Hey, better then 3) Told a lady my issue. She tried to transfer me but instead disconnected. I wasted 2 hours for nothing. I am NOT calling again.

So, I tried emailing Disney. That was several days ago. Have not gotten a response back yet. What a nightmare. Disney expects you to use your phone for EVERYTHING......

I arrive on property this Thursday, guess I will head to customer service.

Have you tried Chat on MDE?
