Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

As far as friendship boats - I just want to double check what I should expect to HS and EC from swolphin.

they come every 15-20 min?
About 10 min to HS and about 20 to EC?

walking about 10 to HA and 15 to EC?
epcot walk is closer than HS. or maybe seemed that way because you walk past boardwalk for EC versus along the river to HS. boats came about every 20 min so we usually walked unless we were walked out. think the walk to HS is also longer than 10 min. probably both 15-20 minutes on boat or walking to either. boat was always nicer for ride home.

I’m staying at the Swan R & was wondering if anyone w an Apple Watch was able to use the bonvoy app to unlock their door? Not sure if they are doing the digital door key via the app at that location. It’d be nice to have the room key, Apple Pay, & the park pass all on the iwatch.

Will the bonvoy app work for entrance to MH? It’s the first time in 20 years that I won’t have a backpack or diaper bag! 🤗

I used the app (on my phone not a watch) last weekend at the original Swan (not the Reserve) and it worked very well. I'd assume they have it over at the Reserve as well. In terms of morning hours, I didn't try it but I'm not sure the bonvoy app alone would work ... I think you need to link your stay to My Disney Experience and then you'd be set. So could still use your watch - but in terms of what app/system it's using to verify, I think it would rely upon MDE vs. the Marriott app.

Hi all. I was supposed to be at a large health care conference at the Swan Feb. 6-12. Conference has gone to virtual, and all the associated hotel rooms have been canceled.

I just checked the Swan website, and rooms for that week are $203 a night with AAA. Seems like a fantastic deal. I hate that my conference was canceled, but I hope this is helpful to someone!

from the Dolphin don’t you walk along path past Yacht Club and BC to get to EPCOT?

I had a reservation at the Swan through Marriott for an upcoming trip, but I just found a discounted room at BC and booked that. So, currently on MDE, I show two hotel reservations for the same days. Since I am AP, I booked my park reservations as an AP before I had hotel reservations at all, so those won’t be affected by the change. I cancelled the Swan though the Bonvoy app. Do I need to call to have the reservation removed from MDE since there is no option to do that on the app or on the website? Nothing is attached to the reservation, but I don’t want it to cause any problems with Disney’s high-quality IT. (Is this even the right thread for a question like this?)
I had to send an email and the tech team too care of it

When I've canceled Swan and Dolphin reservations (booked thru Marriott website, canceled thru Marriott website or app), they've fallen off my MDE account within a few days.

Thank you for sharing. Just changed from Dolphin to Swan and saved $209.00 for my 2/5 - 2/8 stay. At the time of booking, Swan was not available (prefer Swan to Dolphin) Always book a balcony room w/ my AP discount.

we booked two basic rooms for summer with points last week and then called in house reservations to upgrade to balcony. we had two rooms and they gave one upgrade to balcony for free and other was charged (which was just because reservation person was really nice). so, if you are unhappy with service/flexibility you get from first person, maybe try once or twice to find someone willing to be more flexible. swan has great views of hollywood studios in corner balcony rooms if epcot side is not available.
About how many days/weeks before your trip did you call to upgrade?

Don’t wait too long or the room classification you want may not be available. That initially happened for me. So I kept checking the booking website and when, one day, the balcony deluxe showed up as available for our dates I called right away. IIRC it was about three weeks before our trip.

THANK YOU! Just rebooked at saved $230 on a 3 night trip over that time period (AP rate is $179 before taxes and fees!).

I'm so sorry you lost your trip, but thank you again for giving us a heads up.

we called way ahead of time because we were planning to pay for the upgrades. but i think in general the earlier the better. waiting till week before leaves only what's left for them to choose from.

fastest way is by boardwalk i am pretty sure. walking past the yacht club is the long way around the lake after you go over the bridge between swan and dolphin to boardwalk. ....would be great if there were a shorter way i am unfamiliar with? maybe out the front of dolphin or something? never been that way.

Good to know. I've been booked since last June and didn't know if now was too early for this May...might be worth a call.

I’ve booked twice through Costco and then cancelled after attaching the reservations to my MDE account. They fell off of MDE on their own within a couple of days of being cancelled.

Any guesses as to why 2/19 Dolphin rates are ~$509 a night, and the several dates after are ~$300?

I’m trying to add 2/19 on to our Feb tripand hoping the price drops in line with the other nights!

wondering if it’s a conference or just more full that night overall?
