Walt Disney World Launches NEW Website

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

If they were wanting a constructive test run, it sure did not last long enough for people to be able to really explore it.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

On the new web site I set up the profile with family members (including their birth dates). The site calculated our ages. Since my children will be a year older next year (funny how that happens), I couldn't book a package with their ages at time of travel because the web site indicated the ages at time of travel didn't match the ages in my profile! Crazy. I emailed WDW with the problem.

Tonight I couldn't access the new web site with any of my browsers. I guess its down now for tweaking. I did like the new site overall.

Got up early to try and secure a BOG ressie (been working on this for 2 months now, is why I am at the site far more than usual), is still the old site, at least I did not have to re-enter everything again there.

I for one would love to continue exploring the new site. Hope they give it back to me soon. ::yes::

I just logged onto the Disney site. It looks like it might be the old version, but I am very happy because my hotel and ADRs are all there and correct! 51 days to go! :cheer2:

Yup, the browser I know was showing me the new site yesterday is back to the old.

Wonder if it is gone for everyone now, at least for the time being?

Am also curious how many people were involved. I think not many. The rep I spoke said she heard only frequent visitors to the site where among those selected and that I was the only person she spoke to who had the new site.

It's funny, the old site tended to give me problems, I had to re-retrieve reservations sometimes. Not having any glitches with it now that I have been switched back. That's a nice thing. :thumbsup2
It seems I may be among the minority who liked what I was seeing at the new site.

I was not unhappy with the new site, and the only bug I had was that the online check in gave me an error. With the old site back this morning, I am having all sorts of trouble! I agree with almost the entire second half of your post-- from glitches I had/have with the old site to liking the new one, except the "old" site is even more glitchy today unable to retrieve ANY of my info!! And I have 10 days to go. It isn't going to mess up my trip, but it is frustrating!

Delete your cookies - at least those for anything with "go.com" in the name. It's possible they are messed up because of the switching.

I was just coming back with an update:

Funny, but with all the errors, I just shut down my browser (Chrome) and restarted it. The old website (still just this morning), but the log in was slightly different than I've ever seen before, and it did go right to my reservations as it had NOT been doing with the old site. It seems like they have made some changes to the old site after all. (I had been having troubles with the old site for months, even with clearing cookies, restarting the browser, etc. Had to continually re-enter the ressie info)

I am sure that it is even more frustrating happening so close to your departure. But at least you will be "home" soon :).

I have a Mac and use Firefox. I sometimes have a lot of trouble with the WDW site (even when I clear my cache). There are times that it just no-shows... ...browser has the address, every indication is that it is open to the site, but the screen is blank white. When I switch to Safari, the site is slower and it takes multiple commands to respond. I was just at it again using Firefox and it is still working better than ever for me. Our resort and dining reservations are still there and it is not sluggish at all.

It is interesting to compare.

Yup, looks like it went fully live yesterday.

The interesting thing is, my AP voucher info is in my profile, but it still asks me for the info when I go to certain pages...then tells me it's already in my profile, and still won't let me at the page...

Same here. :badpc:

Trying to navigate the new site now. We leave Jan 23 with an arrival late on Jan 24. None of my ADRs show and when I try to go anywhere all it gives me is a blank page. Ugh.:confused3

I am glad it is back. I was a part of the testing, took the time to retrieve everything, now that it is back, everything is still there :goodvibes.

Some things I have noticed:
:thumbsup2 Daily show times at the parks is easily listed. Looks like it is a month out for MK and even includes hard to find show times (like Celebrate the Magic)
:( Unable to add special celebrations (like Birthdays and anniversaries) to ressies. After making ressies, had to call to have them added.
:thumbsup2 Like the layout for adding things/parks to each day of our trip
:thumbsup2 Can see the Counter Service-FastPass option :( but it is not working yet
:( FastPass+ not available, but hopping the launch of the new site means that it will be soon :thumbsup2

I still can't get anything at all, on any browser. I get the internet error page that the server is too busy or not responding and to try again later. I guess I'll clear my cookies and try but it's been awhile of just being completely down now.

I've been using the old site, but today the new site came up and my reservations went through (after manually entering)... finally!

Let me add, the literary feature is great! Shows the times of events and park hours, plus merges your dining reservations. I know most probably made our own, but this is very convenient!

I don't understand how it's fully live if parts of it aren't actually working...
