Walt Disney Studios Tour

Could be that something is happening at the studios where they don't want outside guests. The tours are done by cast members who were tour guides at the parks. It could be that there is less demand for the studio tours now so they are moving the guides back to the parks.

We did a tour on Tuesday, and it was great! The Cast Member who led us around works at the Studio under the Archives branch, so I am not sure if they are truly parks tour guides (although maybe some are or were in the past). They did not ask for my D23 membership card, although I had it just in case. We had an awesome time, and it was well worth it (especially getting to shop at the employee store at the end).

Oh, that would be an interesting guide to have. The times we visited, the guides said that they had worked in the parks and moved over to the studios.

We did it a few years ago, through the DMR option, and the guide we were assigned, got pulled for some reason or other (I don't recall), so we ended up with a guide who normally works with VIPs and celebrities. We did a 6.5 hour tour, and it was fantastic. His schedule was clear that afternoon, so he asked if we wanted to continue. He has sooooo much knowledge. We ate at the Commissary, did the Co. Store, we also met Annette Funicello's younger brother, who still works there. He got teary eyed when speaking about her and her castmates antics. Of course, that just got me teary eyed. We also did the tunnel, etc. We were grateful for our guide's time. He also sat with us outside for 1/2 an hour and just asked US questions. Like our fave movies, etc....and he genuinely wanted to know WHY those were our faves. Same with Disney music, etc....it was great having that two way interaction.

Do these tours usually run in the Spring? I'd like to go in April/May.

Do you know if they are going to offer tours in January 2025?
And if they do when they are going to be available to book?

Glad these are continuing into next year!

My son is 9 years old and is desperate to do the tour. Do they check the kids age or ask for an ID?
Because on the website it says that you have to be 10 years old to be able to participate in this tour.
Why is he desperate to do it? It isn't a tour geared towards kids.

We've seen together every documentary that is in Disney+ and after that he knows everything about Walt, the Sherman Brothers, Howard Ashman, Eisner, etc, and he wants to be in the Studios and specially in Walt's office and in the archives.

Aww. I hope you are able to take him on this tour, if not this year then next; he will love being in Walt's office and in the old animation buildings.

I had a question about the tour. I see if you are a D23 member, you can buy discounted tickets. However, everything I’ve seen says that you can only buy 2 tickets at that price. Can a third one be purchased at the full price? Or I suppose I could have my sister join to get the discount price as well. I mean, becoming a Gold member seems worth it just for those saving alone.
