Word has it that Walmart will be rolling-back the price of gasoline by 10 cents a gallon for the next 90 days at fuel pumps with either "Walmart" or "Murphy USA" branding.

Complete details are here.

Too bad Florida isn't on the list. That is where I buy my gas. Good deal for the states it includes!

That is a good deal. Not participating in my state though. I wonder why it's only for some states and not others? Guess I will have to continue using my gift card discount.

It's funny the Walmarts in my area never ever have the lowest priced gas. We have a convenience store called "Wawa" in Jersey and it always has better prices than sams and walmart.

Anyway, my gas is down to $3.39/gal

Not in my state either but the little city I live in in Kansas, gas is down to $3.32 a gallon. Thank goodness.

Interesting. Not sure it is worth the 30 min each way drive, but if I am down that way anyway, I will do it. (in Rock Hill, SC)

The Charlotte location doesn't affect me at all. It is 30 min. away, but their gas is always far more (at least .20 per gallon) than our local gas station just over the SC state line.

It could be for one of two reasons:

  • Many states have laws that prohibit such discounting of gas (New Jersey immediately comes to mind).
  • Some Walmart pumps are branded "Optima" (Northeast) and "Mirastar" (West) -- those stations are not part of the promotion, as those stations are owned/operated by Sunoco and Tesoro, respectively

You might want to read the not-so-fine print...
The discount applies to gas purchases made when using a reloadable Walmart gift card, reloadable Walmart MoneyCard® or Walmart credit card
I think Speedway does the same thing if you use their credit card. Other stations may also.

I read that also. Our local news station said it was for ANYONE, but I guess they were wrong or didn't read the fine print. We only have 1 station like this in the area and I am not going to waste what gas I have to drive that far to fill up. If I was going that way, I would stop.

We have a card for the stations on base and we always get $.05 off, around the holidays, we get $.10 off.

Our gas was down to $3.33 last night.

Anyone can buy a Walmart gift card. No qualifying needed, no credit checks needed.

Usually it is not worth my while to drive out of my way to get to a cheaper gas station. At 20 miles a gallon in stop and go driving and $3.50 per gallon, one mile is 18 cents. So to go a mile to the station and back is 36 cents and then I need to buy more than 7 gallons at 5 cents a gallon less, in order to save anything.

On the way home I cross one main drag and there are ten gas stations within one mile on one side or the other. Every day a different station is cheapest. (no Walmart stations)

I have heard of stations not allowed to charge more than a certain amount above wholesale (tankwagon) price but never heard of not allowed to charge less.

YAY!! Every month when I get paid I put a certain amount on my Walmart gift card to use for gas for the whole month. This will be a tremendous help!

There is alink on the WalMart site somewhere telling of the stations and although NM is listed it is only the WM in Artesia for the whole state, so be sure to check. Good deal for those who get it though.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for this i have looked up the fuel stations and they seem to be everywhere we are going on our trip will be a great savings:yay:

...Walmart corporate has updated the link in my OP to include PDFs detailing participating stations in both FL and AL.

So, for many, you can get discounted gas on an entire road trip to/from WDW.

Everyone does qualify. You just have to go inside walmart and get a gift card and put money on it. No extra fees etc. It is the same card you would buy as a gift for someone. IF you have a Walmart credit card you can use it instead but it is not necessary to have a credit card.

Our gas tax is much higher than yours and it going up another 2.5 cents per gallon.

I went by our WM last evening - gas price with the discount was $3.11 - guess I'll be getting my gas at WM this summer!
