Walmart online order problem

I just ordered 5 items from Walmart online. They came in three different packages. My account is now showing all items were "delivered," except they've only sent me four of the five items. I actually want to return all of the items because none of them ended up being what I needed.

What's the best way to handle this absent item? They charged me for it but I never received it. I'm planning to go to a local store to make the returns, but I don't know if they will actually refund me the full amount based on the fact that I don't have all five items. Any ideas? Is it better to try to deal with this with someone by phone?

I am not a Walmart expert, but I would think you should deal with the missing item issue by phone first with the online customer service order before you return anything. Perhaps you can get a credit issued for the missing item and then return the remaining items.

I agree - you want to call Walmart first. If you go to the store their not going to refund you for an item you never got - if you call walmart you can let them know this item was never received and they can just refund you for it - then you can return the other items in the store.

I have emailed them in the past when items were missing, referencing the order number, they have always been quick to respond and either credit my account or send the missing item.

Update - I was able to take care of this in store with the help of a manager. Thanks for the great tips!

I do have a question. I ordered some stuff on line at walmart and want to return a couple items. What did you need to return to the store? I did not get any

When I logged in to my Walmart account I was able to go to the order and click a link for returns. There was another link for "return in store" that took me to a receipt with a bunch of bar codes that the cashier was able to scan for the returns.
