Hi
were off to orlando in September and i was wonderign if you can buy any disney merch in Walmat, hopefully save some all important dollars

I was in a Kissimmee Walmart a couple of years ago and they had a Disney Department (for lack of a better word.) It had t-shirts, towels, mugs, etc. They were Disney branded, but "official Disney Parks" merchandise. On that note, Walgreens also had a fair amount of Disney stuff as well.

We were just there in November. I thought the merchandise there was crapy quality. We passed.

We went in December. Both Walmart and Target have Disney licensed stuff. There were basically the same things in both stores, so the stuff must be standard.

The quality is roughly like everywhere else. I've bought some stuff at the parks that didn't wear very well, so you can't always tell. Just try to be selective and you'll be fine. :)

The Superwalmart on Vineland has a huge selection (think this is the Kissimee one). It's been posted that there is a section at the SuperTarget as well.

I usually make a stop there and since I tend to do small things like fridge magnets and keychains it's a great place to pick up something inexpensive. I mean really I don't want to spend more than 2 or 3 bucks on a magnet for my desk at work. This last time I bought a picture frame after failing to find one I liked anywhere at disney on two prior trips. I think my mom bought a shirt there a few years ago and still wears it so it held up well. I don't really care about the 'official' stamp on my souvineers and honestly for as much as you pay IN WDW some of the quality is lacking to say the least. So take a look and decide if price/quality is workable. In truth I say for anything that your kids will grow out of or is something that is not a show piece item then cheaper is better. For those few items that are show pieced or things you want to last you might be better off at an official store.

It's not the only place I buy stuff but it's nice for things that I really do want to keep budget.

Yes, both the Walmart and SuperTarget stores in Kissimmee offer a range of Disney stuff for those last-minute purchases.

Most of the stuff I have seen at these two stores is licensed fare from Disney, but keep in mind, this is not to be confused with theme park-specific stuff (a lot of stuff off-site may have a Disney character and "Florida" on it).

Some of it was the exact same stuff as in the parks (pins, mugs etc) just WAY cheaper. DH bought a Mickey polo at Target that looked to be the same quality as the ones in the parks for half the price.

That's where I always go to buy gifts for the people at work, (pens etc).

I had commented to DH while at WDW this past Dec. that I had gone through TrendD at DTD and had seen the exact same style shirts that I had recently purchased at Walmart...and way cheaper. I have washed & worn them multiple times and they have held up well. On the other hand, I purchased a handbag from TrendD awhile back that did not hold up long at all.

Try the Disney character outlet at the premium outlets on vineland...Disney park merchandise for up to 70% off..... My last trip I wanted a mickey sweatshirt at mousegears but was not willing to pay the $50 for it... went over to the outlet and got the same one for $15!:cool1:
