Walking to Disney Challenge #2

What a fun motivational idea!

Count me in at 1201 miles. I will be starting this week - I was starting a walking thing with a friend anyways, but get this: SHE'S NEVER BEEN TO DL OR WDW!!!! We keep talking about going and this would be the perfect reason to do it - when we're done walking, we get to go!

I wear a pedometer. 1 miles = about 2000 steps, depending on the length of your stride. If you don't have a pedometer you can convert time to miles. I did this before I got my pedometer. I knew a certain point was 1/2 mile from home. When I reached it I clocked the time at 10 minutes, so 1 miles = 20 minutes.
 
iNTeNSeBLue98, do you have good luck with your pedometer? I have had several, and they: quit for no apparent reason, or fall off of my waist. I only count the "extra" walking jor exercising (Curves counts as 2 miles). Should I be counting all of my steps??
 
I have walked 8.67 so I am.....

8.67/1036.25

I have to double that weekly total to finish by next year :rotfl2: :teeth:

I've had mine since April last year. It's pretty basic - miles and steps displays. I've noticed certain garments do not give as accurate a read. The best I've found is clipping to the waistband of my undergarments.

I'm going to do this challenge!! I'm going to walk to DIsney!! We plan on going again sometime between Oct-Dec of this year!! I can so do this LOL!!

I got in another 4 miles so now I am at 11/1260. I think I need to get myself a pedometer, so far the miles I'm logging are my dedicated walking miles. I would get there so much quicker if I logged the miles I walk just doing regular activites lol. Hmmm my birthday is next week that may be an idea on something for DD and DH to get me.

Lisa come on down!! I have a whole extra room and a really nice queen air mattress you can borrow!! We can walk together!!

Okay, I am going to try this. I only have 684.13 miles, but maybe my goal could be seeing how many times I can "walk" there before I actually go again. Either way, it seems like a fun way to give some purpose to all the walking, which can get boring.
 
OK, walked another 1.25 miles today. So that makes me 2.75/1013...boy have I got a long way to go. That's ok though you know what they say...
Slow and steady win the race!! :teeth:
 
Yesterday was a beautiful day here, finally, it was 54 and sunny! We have hardly seen the sun here in the last 20 days so I just had to get out there and walk. I got in 3 miles so I am now at 14/1260

Counting steps :faint:

I was trying to update my numbers every day, but that has now changed to weekly ::yes::

Getting in vacation packing mode now :hyper: , so not walking as much...Planning on walking on the shippy poo though :teeth:
 
For the past 2 days I've awakened at 5:45 to walk 2 miles. I've also come home to do crunches and lift hand weights. I feel so much better after doing that. What a difference!! I have to work to make this a habit but I like the way it makes me feel and am excited about this new pattern. It also helps to know that there's a cute little brunette (who lives 130 miles away :sad: ) who will be doing the same thing. But that's another story!
 
Count me in! I would have to walk 1219 miles to get me to WDW for my cruise in September....however no official training until 1/14- got to give my knee time to recover from the half marathon. However, I think I will wear my pedometer at work tomorrow.

I'm at 22.88/590.00 and I can't wait for warm, sunny weater and longer days that will enable me to add up to two extra miles per day.
 
I am slowly making progress, but have been exercising more at Curves than walking.
