Hi -
We're going to be staying at the BC for the first time in December and I was wondering about the best way to get to the MK from there if you want to arrive when the MK opens. Do you have to take the bus, or can you walk through the back-door at EPCOT to get to the monorail around 8 am on a day that EPCOT opens at 9? I've heard the bus can take a really long time. Thanks!::MinnieMo

If you want to be at MK when it opens, you better take the bus. The International Gateway won't be an option until Epcot opens- so unless it's an EE day for Epcot, the bus will be a much better option.

Enjoy!

THE MAGIC!!!

Not to state the obvious, but factor in the increased travel time and simply leave your hotel a few minutes earlier.

Having been a member since 1999, with small children, and with many trips under my belt, the best advice I can give (EE or not) is to arrive at the park early. It is not as hot, everyone is alert, but most of all - lower crowds. Of course, you also get the double benefit of seeing (and enjoying) the parks, as well as the luxury of leaving the parks when it does get crowded and then enjoying your resort or other activities.

Now, the parks do seem to fill up quicker during the high season, but you get a minimum of 1.5-2.5 hours of reasonable, RELAXING park time. We have also learned that MK is best seen the day after an EE day or an e-night (as all those park goers go somewhere else the next day).

Finally, I recommend investing in one of the WDW vacation guide books that may provide add'l planning insights. This little extra planning can turn WDW into the paradise it was meant to be (that most of us DISers enjoy), rather than a stressful, hectic experience that many come away with.

Thanks for your time.

Brian.

Be at the bus stop approximately 45 min. before the park opens....you should get to the park nice and early. If you drive you'll be stuck at the TTC w/ everyone from off site. The monorail idea would have the same effect....though as another poster said, it won't work most days.

Also, its difficult to get transportation opposite of the normal flow in the mornings....all the trans. is runing to the parks from the resorts and they don't really have it available for leaving the parks. Doesn't seem to make sense, but just try getting a bus to a resort from a park at 10am and you'll see what I mean.

The bus from the Epcot area resorts really doesn't take long.
