Walking Ressies

Wow! There is a thread with over 3,000 posts about the new system...

Can someone please explain the "walking ressie" concept to me...I travel during peak times as I am a teacher and want to be able to understand the new strategy.

Also, how about the wait list situation? The more I read the thread the more confused I get...If I wanted to book a trip beginning December 24th, What would I do? What if I wanted to stay at resort other than my home resort? Book my resort with a walking ressie to have a definite ressie, and then do what at seven months?

Can someone offer the simplest possible explanation of securing a ressie?
I would truly appreciate it!!!

To keep from cluttering the boards with numerous discussions about the new booking policy, we are restricting all discussion to a single thread.

We have experienced in the past that allowing multiple threads, a great deal of information/discussion is simply repeated on the different threads. (When AKV was first announced, we at one time had more than 20 different discussion threads about it. That's when we developed the policy to have a single main discussion thread for 'hot' topics.
