 This may sound like a silly question, but here goes. We're staying at CBR over Easter. I hear so much about crowds, lines for buses, etc. Since CBR is about a mile from Epcot, is it possible to walk there. Don't know if that is possible (are there sidewalks?) or if it is even allowed. Can you enter or exit Epcot through the International Gateway which appears closer to CBR, or just through the main Epcot entrance to the north? Any other attractions within walking distance of CBR? Thanks.

You cannot walk to Epcot from CBR without risking life and limb. Take the bus or drive to the park.

I asked the same question before we stayed at CBR in 2001. It looks so close on the map! There is a lot of vegetation in the way. It's actually a little farther away than you think because you have to drive ALL THE AWAY AROUND Epcot to enter. The bright side is that you will see Illuminations fireworks from CBR! I love CBR! Can't wait to visit it again! S

You could walk to boardwalk and take the boat over and enter from the int. gateway bridge entrance. But this would take a considerable time to do. Since your so worried about the time in line for busses and such, you will come out way ahead if you just use their transportation. If you have time to blow, go for it. Just be careful walking across the main road.

IMHO, it will not be safe - as DebbieB posted, there is a 6 lane road to cross. This area is NOT pedestrian friendly. There will be lots of buses and lots of cars driving WDW roads over Easter, and many (if not most) of them will not be expecting pedestrians!

Take the bus. It will be quicker (Disney schedules extra buses when it is busy) and much, much safer for your family.

When you visit at a peak time, you have to expect crowds. We've been at Easter more than once and it is never as bad as you might think from reading these boards. With a little advance planning and a good attitude, you can have a wonderful trip!

Best wishes,
Carol

You cannot walk. There is a 6 lane highway that you would need to cross; also there are no sidewalks along the way; finally, Disney security stops those who attempt to walk outside the resort areas and request that they not do it and return to where they came from. Entire WDW area is purposefully designed not to encourage walking outside the resorts and parks.
