Walking distances in OKW

How far is the walk to the main pool and the snack area to get refills if we are put in the building furthest away?

It seems further away than it is because there's not a theme park at the end of the walk. But I would say at the most, it's no more than 10-15 minutes. You can always jump on a bus too, there's plenty of them at OKW. Just ask the driver if he'll be stopping at the HH.

Anywhere from a few steps to about a block. It really depends on how close you are to the bus stop. ALL buses stop at the HH last, so you can take any bus to get to HH. If you are going very late at night after buses quit running, you will have to walk about 10 minutes or less, depending on which building you are in. Of course, that isn't going to happen, because if it is late enough for no buses to be running, it is also too late for the pool or snack area to be open.

I would also put the walk at 10-15 minutes tops from the furthermost point. A tip to keep in mind -- if you are in the South Point or Turtle Pond areas and midwalk you can't take it, just hop on and off the bus at Peninsular Road. This will put you right near the "back" pool area of Hospitality House.

When we were there last week, the Turtle Shack was open every day until 5:00. If you're lucky enough to be where we were (Building 42, second floor), I counted the number of steps one day (wierd, I know)-110 steps from door of Villa to Turtle Shack.

I haven't selected a building preference yet, and need help. My family likes to conserve as many steps as possible. My DH would not take kindly to hopping a bus to get to the main pool, I'm sure.

I've looked at the map a hundred times, and can't figure out where the main pool or Olivia's is. Help!

They are near the Hospitality House (check-in area).

you must be checking in the same time we are. If you aren't willing to hop a bus or walk at OKW...don't stay there.

Dianeschlit- OKW wasn't even one of my first 3 choices, but we are staying there due to circumstances beyond my control. I have grown to like the idea, the place seems to have quite a following, and it really does seem very nice.

Although I would like to take your advice for many reasons, I don't have an option for this trip.

My only option is to research and try my best to plan ahead, using the very friendly and supportive folks here at the DIS.

Off South Point Road (east side):
.67 miles from the start in OKW (between buildings 54 & 55) to the back of Artist Point.
.6 miles from building 55 to the main pool at OKW.
.54 miles from building 55 to the Turtle Shack and pool.

Off South Point Road (west side):
.67 miles from building 49 to the main pool.
.6 miles from building 49 to the Turtle Shack and pool.

Off Miller's Road:
.1 miles from building 22 to its nearest quiet pool.
.45 miles from building 22 to the main pool.

Figure it would take 10-15 minutes to walk half a mile depending on your walking speed.

My point was that if you want to get to the main pool and you aren't in one of the three buildings across the street from it, you will have to walk or take a bus to get there. That is, unless someone recently put segways available at the villas!
BroganMC, so glad you posted the distances! I knew it wasn't as far as some think it is, and it is even less to a bus stop. I found it interesting that it isn't much further from 55 to SSR than it is to HH!
