We will be staying onsite, but I am trying to decide between RPR and Hard Rock. The RPR didn't exist the last time we went to Universal. I will be traveling with two very eager HP fans - getting into the park first thing in the morning will be of prime importance.

Which is faster/closer? I've looked at a property map & I don't see a walking path between RPR and the parks.

Any other benefits of RPR that I should know about? We've stayed at the Hard Rock a few times and have always liked it, but I'm not married to it in any way.

The cost difference per night is only $20.00.

Ten to fifteen minutes from RPR to IoA, HRH is not significantly better if at all. Walking path from RPR lobby to IoA below.

Great map! Do you have one from HRH to IOA? :goodvibes

go out the doors that head to the pool.
walk around the pool to the main pathway.

you will exit onto the main path that goes by the studios.
you will be passing HRC on the right side.

keep walking until you at the end of this walkway.
follow this main walkway turn right to the ioa gates.

at hrh you can always go out of the building and to the right, down the stairs. walk along the sideway thru the employee parking lot.
after the p. lot, hit the black top and walk towards the studios.

you will see the bus stop right before you leave this section.

then follow the walking instructions above to reach ioa.

Well, I just made one based on what I remember and macraven's directions. The route traced in red would be the main pathway, the one in blue would be the "back" way, which I think is more useful if coming from Portofino. I traced as far as the entrance to the Studios--IoA is another 3-4 minute walk further south.

Someone let me know if there's a better way.

ETA: Added yellow route to capture damo's post below.

Great details.

Great maps.

Thanks you both!

I've booked at HR - can't wait for the trip!! :cool1: Everything is booked - just need to pick up tickets when we arrive.

OMG!!!! You guys are awesome! :worship:

We are staying at HRH for the first time this summer and are so excited.

Thanks again! :woohoo:

If you are taking the parking lot route at the HRH (or going that way from being at the PBH), you don't have to exit the first parking lot and walk on the main road. There is a small pathway right at the end of the second parking lot that will take you right to the traffic circle at the end. It is at spot 627

Here is Barb's picture of that spot.

and here is the last little pathway between the last parking lot and the loop.

and here is what it looks like when you exit that little pathway.

See updated map above. Does the route in yellow capture this? The satellite image is dodgy in the parking lot where the path starts and where it goes through the shrubbery. ;)

I was not able to find this way, but I didn't have the magic 627 code either.

Yup, that looks good to me!

i didn't notice that last night the one route was around the lots.

i do the yellow line route when i stay there.

it is shorter than the pool way to the parks.
