We're traveling with a 3 year old (almost 4) and 7month old. Both will be in strollers. I'm trying to plan our park plans and without having been there since I was 10 years old, its impossible to figure out how long it will take to get from one point to another in the parks. Can anyone help tell me the distance (walking time) from

Epcot - Beach Club to International Gateway/ IG to park entrance in Future World
MGM - Playhouse to Muppets / Muppets to LMA
MK - Buzz to Castle
AK - front entrance to each of Safari, Kali Rapids, Everest and Dinosaur

Thanks!

Joanne

Joanne...I'll do my best. :)

Epcot...BC to IG, 5 to 8 minutes walk. Getting in could be longer depending on the line to get in. IG to Front of the park, 15 minutes at a liesurely pace. For reference, we made it from the middle of the boardwalk resort (near the boat dock) to the front gate of Epcot in roughly 20 minutes. We walk fairly quickly, though. (Same situation: Two kids, two strollers :) )

MGM - Playhouse to Muppets, probably 5 to 7 minutes or so. Muppets to LMA, 3 or 4 minutes.

MK - Buzz to Castle, under 5 minutes. Buzz to just across the bridge to the hub you can do in a couple minutes.

AK - I'm not that good here, I'll defer to somebody else. :)

Disclaimer: My estimates do not account for crowd size nor running over unspecting gawkers/map readers with your stroller when they stop directly in front of you. Granted, that can be entertaining, it does however tend to make for a longer transit time...what with the exchanging of insurance information and such. :teeth:

I'm just giving rough guesses here..

AK Entrance -> Safari = about 7-10mins (This area is usually crowded, even during off seasons)
Entrance -> Kali = 7-10mins (This is another congested area)
Entrance -> Everest = 10mins
Entrance -> Dinosaur = 5-7mins

Everest & Dinosaur are very close to eachother, so they should only be about 3 minutes apart.

The other two are a distance away from the rest of the rides.

I don't know if you are willing to spend the $$, but the "Passporter Guide to WDW Resort" by Dave and Jennifer Marx has the average walking times between attractions on all their park maps. It cost me $22 at Barnes and Nobel, but it is chock full of all kinds of good information and planning ideas.

I'm looking at the map of AK - and find it very hard to believe that the walking distance from Everest to Dinosaur is only 3 minutes....

I think it would take at least 5 minutes just to get from Everest to Nemo the Musical.

Can anyone enlighten me on this?

It is closer than it looks on a map, but from Exe to Dinosaur will probably take more than 3 minutes. I would guess along the line of 5-7 depending on who is doing the walking

Just checked my passporter and it says From EE to the boneyard is 3 min. :) and from the bonyard to Dinosaur is 1 1/2 min!!:)

The "Passporter" guide book has distance and estimated walk time listed on their maps. I think it's worth the money.
