Walking Distance Between Rides

I know that WDW is huge and I have imagined long distances between rides, however, upon seeing a Disney video some of the rides appears closer together than I had expected.

What would you say is the average time to walk between:

Carousel & BOG?
Dumbo & Winnie the Pooh?

Hopefully these will give us a better understanding of size.

I wouldn't say there is a long walk to anything. They're right there together.

Now if you wanted to walk from Space Mountain to BOG, that might be a long walk, but everything is pretty close together.

rides in the same area are close together. From Dumbo to Winnie the Pooh is less than 5 minutes. Goofy's Barnstormer is right beside Dumbo. Everything in Fantasyland is really close. Then when you go to Tomorrowland, all the attractions are right there together and so-on. Now if you're crossing the park say from Dumbo to Splash Mountain, that's a about 10-15 minutes depending on crowd traffic. You could make it in less than that at a brisk walk - aka almost jogging...

As stated by PP's, rides in the same "land's" are really close together. When you will do a lot of walking is if you follow a touring plan and zig zag between attractions all across the park for optimal crowd waits. It is so worth the extra walking, though, if you are going during a crowded time (which is most of the time)!

Remember one of the biggest innovations of Disneyland (and WDW magic kingdom) is the spoke park design with a central hub. This cuts down on walking as much as possible. .. if you want to plan it that way

Thanks for the info. We are planning to do pretty much 1 land a day in MK, but Touring Plans was suggesting going from Dumbo to Pooh and then back to the Tea Cups and something similar later in the day with BOG. I didn't want to end up doing huge amounts of extra walking, but it sounds like it will only add a couple minutes here & there.

Dumbo & Winnie the Pooh? 2 minutes tops.

Magic Kingdom is not that big.

EPCOT will involve alot more walking if you are going there.

Within a land 2-3 minutes at most. Going from one land to another can be 10-15 minutes.

I would download a map. When I use touring plans they did seem to criss cross the park a lot but carousel is right before BOG. Winnie the Pooh is a little ways away from dumbo but no more than a couple minutes if that. Tea cups are on the way to tomorrowland.

Get a good map.. The ones at easyWDW I believe are labeled with ride names. You can pick your path with them so you arent criss crossing a lot.

There is a lot to do at Magic Kingdom, but unless you are taking an exceptionally leisurely pace, one land a day is going to leave you with a lot of free time. Fantasyland is a notable exception, as there's quite a bit there to keep you busy for a while, but some of the other lands can be exhaustively explored in a couple of hours.

Thank you. I know to most this seems very odd, but I have a high needs toddler and we will likely be leaving the parks by noon each day and not returning. So 3 hours is really what I am dedicating to each land.
