I'm staying at all star movies and we have a car rental at alamo at the Dolphin. there is confusion over the alamo shuttle and if they don't show i'll have to look for other options to get the rental car.

the buses can take 90 minutes to get me there. the disney site said walking is about 15 minutes. is it safe to walk from all star movies to the dolphin (i don't mean as in muggers but traffic).

thanks!

It takes me 15 minutes to walk from BW to MGM. S/D is right next to BW. I think it would take a long time to walk from ASM to S/D. I would suggest taking the resort bus to MGM and then walking.

Those times cannot possibly be correct. In fact, they almost look backwards.

There's no practical way you could walk from All-Star Movies to the Dolphin - it's much too far. It would take a lot longer than 90 minutes to make the several mile hike. A bus won't quite make it in 15 minutes either, but it's convenient. Catch the Disney-MGM Studios bus from the All-Star Movies. Get off at the Studios and walk over to the boat dock and catch the first boat over to the Swan/Dolphin dock. Alternately, you can walk from the Studios to the Dolphin, and 15 minutes might be approximately correct for that distance.

Allow an hour or so for the trip, depending on wait times for the bus and boat.

Or you could have the front desk call you a cab to take over to the Dolphin.

I suggest calling the Alamo desk at the Dolphin directly and asking them. ASM is a about a 10 min drive from the Dolphin-direct by car or cab on a very busy road. No way I would walk it.

If they do not provide a shuttle and you want to take the bus, take the bus to MGM and walk the 15-20min pathway that goes behind the BW. It's actually a nice little walk or, take a Friendship boat from MGM to the Swan/Dolphin dock. I think you'd be looking at about a 1 hour trip regardless of which option you choose.
If you were to take the bus to Epcot, you would have to actually enter Epcot, walk through Future World and exit at the International Gateway, then either walk around past BW or the other way past BC/YC-about a 10 min walk either direction from the International Gateway (or you can catch a Friendship boat to the Swan/Dolphin dock).

Thank you all. walking is definitely out. i'll hope the shuttle service works; if not we'll take a bus and boat!pirate:

You CAN NOT WALK FROM THE ALL STARS TO THE DOLPHIN!!

WDW security will ick you up and take you back to the All Stars. There is no sidewalk, it's a 50mph speed limit, and it's a LONG walk. It would be VERY dangerous to walk between those resorts.

If you are that concerned about waiting for a shuttle, take a cab for about $10.

Ducklite's response is most to the point. You cannot just go walking anywhere you like in WDW. While you may or may not be picked up by security, it is not a good idea to walk this particular route. The general rule is if there is no sidewalk or path, you should not be walking.

I also agree that talking a bus is probably more trouble than it's worth. A cab is a sensible idea.

A normal person in good health can walk 5-6 miles in 90 minutes, and it's nowhere near that far from ASM to the Dolphin. I don't have a map in front of me but I'd guess 3 miles tops. If you were to walk it, it would take well under an hour. Not that it matters.
