Do you think walking a reservation will be more prevalent with the amount of people looking to go. This may be a good time for DVC to put in some type of rules about walking or modifying a reservation.

No, I expect a majority of DVC owners to bank their points. Personally, we are still hanging in there for three bookings this year but will bank our points in time to save them if things don’t go well.

JMHO, if DVC cared about the walking situation it would’ve already been addressed. They have bigger fish to fry right now

For the most part no. Competition for rooms will increase, but for the most part if you book right at 11 months you’ll be fine except for the room types / dates that are already walked.

I think introducing restrictions of modifications is highly unlikely right now which is what they would need to do to stop walking. It really isn’t a problem.

To quote Nancy Sinatra's one and only hit song:
These boots are made for walking
And that's just what they'll do
One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you:)

So yes, I think walking will become the norm, but as Sandi said
I don’t think DVC cares as long as people book the rooms,

Doesn't matter who gets them.

ETA: I now realize I only answered the first part of your question. I think walking will become more prevalent. However, I have no clue on whether DVC will try to stop walking, but as others have posted, with everything else going on, this is probably not the time DVC would try to stop it.

I'd think DVC would be less inclined to do it now. The timing on the tail of the other recent changes could make it viewed more negatively. If it's not absolutely necessary, there's too much potential for it stirring up trouble.

I think that those who are willing to walk are already doing it and will continue to.....those who aren't willing to or don't know what walking is will continue on without walking. There may be additional availability issues but I don't think it will affect the amount of walking.

That's what is nice about owning OKW. Don't need to walk anything other than a HH GV if you really, really want one.

Yep, that’s what I did to get the HH GV at OKW over Christmas. There are only two...and my kids insisted that’s what they wanted. It’s our third time in HH GV OKW, but first time for Christmas. And we will be going even if parks are closed. Our family will be together over the holidays, which we tend to always do anyways.
