Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Hi All!

I'm very sad I will miss the beads and thongs, but trust me, you'd rather I stay home for that one!:rotfl2:

I'll be lonely here, but I'll keep the thread going -- anybody else who doesn't get to go the the ToT party? We can commiserate together.

I walked 1.5 hr last night, which was very good considering I had to make myself get started, and I walked a bit slower than normal. I just didn't seem to have pep in my step. By the end of my walk I was doing much better. :cool1:

I'm hoping for another 1.5 hr walk tonight. I did a short 20 minute lunch time walk today. I'd like to keep that up through Thursday, then have a well-deserved rest day Friday. We'll see what my body says....:rolleyes1

Everyone please travel safe, have a wonderful time, and at least try to wear the beads and thongs at the same time!;)

Maria

I'm still here- :wave2:

I did 4 miles today. I'm trying to ramp up my mileage as I get more serious about training for the half.

Maria and Stac, I will miss you! :guilty: I am leaving tomorrow for Colorado. You guys be safe while we are all gone! :grouphug:

Hi Everyone (and by that I guess I mean Stacey, since the rest of you are ToTing!)!

I did my 1.5 hr walk again last night, and I'm planning the same for tonight and tomorrow. I'm sort of worn out, but I'm really determined to get it in and then rest on Friday. I'm up to about 6 miles at this time, and I know I need to get faster. I desperately do not wish to be swept at the Donald!:sad2:

Plus, I'm definitely slower outside...one of the benefits of being on the TM is at least my pace is constant, and I get used to moving that fast. I have to look for positives, 'cause now I've been outside, I really prefer it. I just can't do it during the week.

Everybody Walk Strong!
Maria

Sigh...I'm here, too. Would much rather be in DW!! You're doing 6 miles in an hour and a half? Wooohooo!! That's below race pace. I did my 3 miles in 57 minutes last night, 19 minute mile, which is a minute per mild improvement over last week. Sloooooow but sure, I'm making progress!

Hey khl-or!

You're doing great. Last night I did 5.940 miles in 90 minutes, which included warm-up and cool-down. On the TM, though, so I had a little help moving myself.

You are definitely showing huge improvement! I would love to improve a mile per minute in a week. Awesome!

I think we should throw our own party -- I'll bring the chowdah!
Maria

I'm here too. I posted earlier but it never showed :(

I think we should all do a 13k on Saturday to be in the "spirit" of things.. Well maybe not.

I do hope they post a little bit over the weekend and let us know how things are going.

It's kindof lonely here without everyone.

klh-or - keep at it, you'll get better. I was doing pretty good the other night and then timed myself again on Monday and I was at 14mm. I was at 13mm the other night so I guess it goes back and forth depending on the temp. The cooler the temp the faster I go. It was pretty darn hot and humid on Monday here in NH. I had a hard time taking a deep breath.

Worfiedoodles - I agree the TM is so much easier, program it and go. Not sure what I'll do tonight. It's cloudy and that means it'll be dark even earlier.

Will post tomorrow on what I did, keep me up to date, it's the one part of my day that I enjoy.

Good evening WISH Walking Team Wonders. I'm still around too. I don't leave for my quick WDW trip for another 68 hours. Hope to get in a couple miles tonight, but its raining and the Red Sox are playing. I'll see how it goes. The back has been feeling better the past couple of days, but between it, work and the kids' social lives, not much training. I plan on taking the 6.5K ToT slow and just try to have fun. (Gotta love a 36 minute per mile time limit.). Hope everyone has a great evening.

Hi pretty princesses:flower3: and Bill. Miss you all, I posted how our trip is unfolding for you.:grouphug:

Dave:hippie:

Today is a rest day for me, but I've got 6 miles planned for tomorrow. Maria, you'll get faster, just keep working on it. Doing intervals helps me!

We leave very early tomorrow morning so I am signing off now. I look forward to meeting everyone and will miss those who can't join us.
Wish us luck!

Jeanne

Don't worry Denise, "speed" is not yet even in my vocabulary when it comes to walking.

Gotta work on that though. I don't want to have to worry about Big Vic or his buddies using cuffs on me when I refuse to be swept in January.

Good Afternoon!

Ok, didn't make it onto the TM last night. I just felt tired and weak, so I thought it better to spend the evening on the couch with the Red Sox....I'm determined to make it back tonight, probably for 45 minutes.

Bill -- I'm with you -- No Sweepers!:cheer2: I don't refer to myself and "speed" in the same sentence, either :lmao: But we will get there, and we will have a great time doing it!:goodvibes

Denise -- :yay: Feel free to do that 13K, I will definitely cheer you on :thumbsup2 , I'm just not there yet!:sad2:

Jeanne -- Have a blast!:dance3:

westcliffemom -- I just keep plugging along, like the ant with high hopes!

Dave -- Are you having enough fun for all of us?!popcorn::

Everyone have a great night, it's almost the weekend!

Denise - I'm planning a 10k for Saturday. Close enough?? I'll try to spread some "terror" while I'm out there, to stay in the spirit of ToT.

Tonight is a 3-miler, and since my brand new Garmin isn't charged (nor have I actually figured out how to use it), I think I'll opt for the treadmill tonight. See if I can't crank that speed up just a little without flying out the window.

One foot in front of the other!

I did my six miles today. Don't know how fast, since I left the watch at home. But, sometimes, that's nice, not to be rushing, keeping pace with yourself.

I thought I'd get to see the herd of elk I saw last night on the way home, since my route was near where they were, but alas, not an elk in sight. That's probably good, as it would of freaked me out good! I already detour because there's a herd of buffalo along one route, and I've heard they can be agressive (even behind a fence). Heard the herd, HA! I'm like Fozzie Bear today, Wocka Wocka!

Three miles on the treadmill in 53 minutes = 17:40 mpm. That's down a minute per mile from last time on the treadmill. Set it to 3.8 at one point to feel what the elusive 16-minute-mile felt like and I swear, my legs could NOT move that fast! But, in January I was doing a 25 minute mile, so progress is definitely being made! 11 weeks until the 1/2. Can she do it??? Stay tuned, sports fans...

:cheer2:

Are we taking bets? My money says you can do it!!! You've really made progress over the last few months. WTG! You've completed one of the hardest parts - just getting started. Keep up the good work. :cheer2:

Well Mark and I went to the track last night and ***? it was being used by high school track kids. Don't they know that WE have to train too???

Alas, we went home, and did our 3 mile route in the neighborhood. It was a nice change and a bit harder than the track. Next week well as of 4:30 today I'm on vacation and we plan on painting,. laying down floor, a bit of quilting for me and just plain old fun. Oh and we'll try to do a LW of 8 miles our neighborhood route with an extra mile added on but doing it 2x. Mark even considered doing it 3 times for 12 miles. I'll see how that goes. Our LW on the training sehedule is suppose to be during Christmas week, not for another month!

klh-or 11 weeks until the 1/2. Can she do it??? Stay tuned, sports fans... Oh yes you can, we'll all be there dragging our sorry butts across the finish line holding our medals proudly!!!!

westcliffemom: Heard the herd, HA! I'm like Fozzie Bear today, Wocka Wocka! Yes I can hear you saying it in that tone!

NEPATSFAN73, If I don't hear from you before you to -HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

Well, take care all keep walking!

Hi!

Just a quick note because I'm withholding posting privileges from myself until I workout -- I have to do something to get back on the TM. I've been off for two days now, which doesn't sound like much, but I know myself...

Everybody have a great day, weekend, and fantastic walks!
