Walkers Wanna Compare Notes??

Spa pedicures are the best. I have to go and have one soon. I already have fake nails that they did for my great toes and now I lost the nails on both 2nd toes and luckly I had red nail polish that matched what I currently have on the other toes so just painted the toe. I soon won't have any toenails. If it was the winter and I wasn't wearing sandals I wouldn't care, but they are pretty ugly without toenails and sandals.

Those Ecco sandals look comfortable. My concern would be the pebbles when I do the rail trail for my LW. Jeanne you will have to let me know how you like them.

Jeanne--- I only plan to go up to 20 miles good for you to try the 22 miles. I had to adjust the schedule to accomdate my half in Oct, the ToT race and my vacation times. I think what I worked out should work ok. I am not so worried about the mid week walks, I will do anywhere from 3-5 miles depending on what is going on in my life at that time. I do want to keep the pump class in as much as possible for XT.

So far this week:

Monday 3 mile speed walk
Tues Walk away the pounds Walk and Jog tape. This is one of the new tapes I got and I really worked up a sweat doing this 33 minute routine.
Wed 4 mile walk at 4.1 pace.

Kim--- It has got hot and humid here also, but by the weekend to be cooler. Good job on doing 7k.

ohMom--- Good job on getting in an 8.25 miler done mid week.

Dave--- You can add me to the list for foot massages.

Erica--- --Thanks for the information on the Ecco sandals. Thanks for sharing Dave with us. I will probably mispell your name several times as I have an Erik and will always just want to add an a to that name.

Kathy--- Those chores always count as XT.

westcliffemom---I love LeCellier also and we try to get there often, but it is one of the hardest places to get an ADR. In Dec we are doing CP and was able to get into there.

Nancy

Good morning WISH Walkers.

I went out for my regular 4 mile route today, the temp was in the 70s but the darn humidity was still in the 90% range. It was a slow pace for me but comfortable and I wasn't whipped at the end. I haven't done any speed work for a few weeks now. I will do some treadmill tomorrow and force myself to do some faster intervals.

Is anyone else getting excited about this ToT and meeting each other? I have always enjoyed the races and the parks but this is going to be so special.

Have an awesome day guys.

Dave:hippie:

I'm really looking forward to the coming week. The temperture here has finally come down to a reasonable level. The high today is only going to be 88 and the humidity is lower as well. I hope the intense heat and humidity is over for the year finally. We get a heat wave like this about every 10 years, something to do with the Elnieno (sp) cylce.

I'm glad I toughed it out but I'm sure glad it's over to.

Were is everyone at? How's the training coming along?

I have been doing that ART, active release therapy, on my achillies and it seems to be helping to get that scar tissue broken up inside. Eventually I might have the option again to run or walk.

Have a great day y'all. Remember to find a reason to smile.

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, all!
Trying to decide what to do today. I've had a good week of training, so it's pretty much ladies choice today! I can step out my door and do 2.25 miles of speed work just like that. Or, I can change into my bathing suit, drive 15 minutes and take a water areobics class. I'm leaning towards the water areobics....it always makes my muscles feel so good. Besides, I am scheduled for a (short) long walk tomorrow morning.
Yesterday I played 9 holes of golf, walking. The course here is so hilly! It's one thing to walk it at a quick pace; it's quite another when you're pushing a cart full of clubs. We were totally winded at the end and it wasn't even as hot as it's been lately. My golf game is soooo bad, it's embarassing. Yesterday I scored a 74......for 9 holes! That's worse than DOUBLE par. I'm definitely the worst player, but the ladies I play with are very Mulligan-friendly, so it's all good. We stink at golf, but we laugh alot.
OK, it's decided......gotta go change for water class!

Jeanne--- If I ever take up golf, I might have to fly down and play with your ladies as I would be terrible at it. Norm and Brian think I should take it up and Brian can get me a great deal on golf clubs with his new job. I told him not to waste the money. I would go for the water areobics class also. That is the one thing my gym doesn't have is a pool.

Dave--- So glad that the weather is getting cooler for you. I'm getting excited about ToT as it is a race I know I can finish. Also the wine and food festival is my favorite of all the events at WDW.

I found those Ecco sandals on shoe buy for $95 with free shipping. They look really comfortable so may just order a pair to use as my regular sandals.

Yesterday, walked 3.5 miles and then went to pump class. Today will be a rest day and then a short LW for the weekend.

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the long weekend.

Nancy

Hey team how is everyone doing?

Just a quick drive by we are 3 people short at work this week and there is only 7 people in the entire office so you can guess how crazy it is. Can't wait for this long weekend to come....even though I was just on holidays it was busy so this weekend we are just hanging out.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!

Kim

Ok we are having a cooler of cold beer and vodka coolers waiting for after the ToT and MGM party. Thought we would have a gathering at the Swan (where we are staying) pool area for anyone who wants a nite cap drink before turning in. So since I opened my mouth about the foot massages any Pretty Princess who has sore feet can get a foot massage while we are there.

I have a 2 mile walk race on monday so I did a short version of my regular route. It turned out to be 2.25 miles. I did the first slow to warm-up and then picked up the pace a bit. Total time was 29:49 for the 2.25 miles. Not sure what the pace was but it was a good walk and fit my taper plan.

Thanks for the information on the sandals for Erica, we have been paying "120 for them, so a $25 savings is great. I get my shoes on the runningwarehouse.com but they don't carry Ecco.

Kim, I'm really looking forward to meeting you and having a ball at the ToT. I understand being short at work. We are usually short also. Our business is hard to staff for because we serve a large area as the only same day optical.

Have an awesome day and good training.

Dave:hippie:

Just passing through.

Dave, you better get a sign up list as you are going to be busy into the wee hours of the morning.

Looking forward to ToT.

Hope everyone has a safe and fun 3 day weekend. Summer will be gone tommorrow :(

Good Luck all DL 1/2'ers :thumbsup2

Good morning, everyone!

I did my four miles yesterday at 16:01 mpm. That was 4 weeks after surgery. Every day seems to be a little faster! I am pleased, but impatient at the same time. I want to get under 15 minutes per mile! NOW! :rotfl:

This morning I went to the pool and swam laps. I was a little unsure of that since I'm a really bad swimmer and even before surgery, it just was a struggle for me. It was a struggle again, but I managed to be in the water for 35 minutes, about 15 of which was just treading water rather than swimming, but I figure I'm still in the water moving around, so it counts!

Nancy - my chores around the house normally would count as XT, but I have been spending most of my time sitting at my sewing machine, so.....not much exercise there. But I am finally done with the baby quilt I was making and all my mending and hemming is done, so I can get all that mess out of my kitchen and do some REAL chores!

Dave - My DH has to wear ties to work also and he hates them, too. As soon as he gets into his pick-up, the tie comes off and he tosses it aside. At the end of the week he gathers them all up and brings them in the house! He's supposed to wear a suit jacket, too, but can't quite bring himself to do that. Instead, he keeps a tweed-type jacket that pretty much goes with everything on the back of his office door in case he HAS to put one on! LOL! --The foot massage sounds great after ToT, but I'm not sure I can keep my eyes open long enough to do an after-the-party party!

Kim - I am headed back to work next week, half days, after an absence of four weeks. I know it's been ugly there while I've been gone, and I'm expecting to pay and pay and pay for that! But, I am determined not to work any extra hours and to take care of myself instead! I had been spending too much time at work and not enough taking care of me and I have decided that is a bad way for me to go.....That doesn't mean it won't be crazy while I'm there, though! You hang in there. You'll have a full crew back soon!

Tomorrow I am going for a short long walk, like many of you. Sounds like the training is going well! I'm looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible at ToT!

Make great days!

Kathy

Could it be......DAVE HAS A FOOT FETISH?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And if he'll forgive me after that last remark, we'd would LOVE to join everyone at the Swan. We'll be at Boardwalk, so it's just a hop and a skip away. I will bring some snacks to go with those vodka coolers.

Nancy: you can play golf with us anytime. When we get to about Hole 6 all we can think about is what the lunch specials are!

Kathy: great job on your walk and swim! You keep getting faster and faster.

Good thing I checked the Y schedule today. Instead of water areobics, it was Boot Camp! (swimming for triathelons) So it was a walk instead. I did my 2.25 in 29:55 but I was really pushing it to finish under 30. Love that Garmin!

Nancy(again): Are you on DDP during the TofT or just while you're at OKW? If our waitlist would come through, we might get it, but it really doesn't make much sense for just the other 2 days.

Could it be......DAVE HAS A FOOT FETISH?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rolleyes1 :dance3: :rotfl2: :thumbsup2
That must be it, why else would someone volunteer to do foot massages to our stinky feet after a race. :confused3

Dave---- You know we love you. :grouphug: I believe that is a sale price for the sandals for the labor day weekend. But shoebuy has alot of sale so if she doesn't get them now don't worry there will be another sale in a week or 2. Now I wish I was staying at the Boardwalk area so I could have those after race drinks.

Robert---You have a great 3 day weekend also.

Kathy--- You are getting faster each walk, you will be below 15 in no time. I don't even own a sewing machine, so if something needs mended or hemmed you are in trouble at my house.

Jeanne---No DDP during the ToT just while we are at OKW, but have that $50 dining card for the AP reservation I made at CSR. We are doing one 2TS so Thursday night will be using cash and my DDE card. Did you order a DDE with your AP? It takes a month to get the card so I would recommend ordering it soon. I read on the DVC board that the Thurs is the day everyone is coming back from the Members cruise and that is why it is hard to get a room for that night.

Kim--- I didn't realize that Canada also had a 3 day weekend. Enjoy.

Finished with lunch so need to get back to work.

Nancy

Of course I forgive you.:flower3:

Actually, though I thought the dinner scene in 'Flash Dance' was a classic, my favorite are a ladies eyes. I can get lost in a pair of beautiful, mischevious eyes and never want to be found.:cloud9:

Today is a rest day, I got up late, it was 66 degrees and felt wonderful under the covers. I would still be there if not for our chocolate lab threatening to bite me if she didn't get to go out. Then Erica got home early, life is good.

I hope we have this cool weather for our race on monday. After all those days of intense heat, 66 felt down right chilly.

Have a wicked good weekend y'all.:grouphug:

Dave:hippie:

Good morning, everyone!

I did five miles today, a little slow, but I'm not really sure HOW slow since I stopped to talk to an old neighbor for a few minutes. Steffwalks got on line with me and showed me how to set my Garmin to pause when I stop walking, so that problem shouldn't arise in the future. Thanks, Steff! At any rate, it was a good walk! Then I came home and mopped my kitchen floor, so I'm ready for a break!

You all have a safe and happy weekend!

Kathy

Hi Kathy, sounds like your training is going great.

Good morning walkers, the weather has cooled down so our times should be improving pretty quickly now that we aren't dying in the heat.

Don't tell anyone else, really keep this just between us. But I heard that Jeanne always flashes Mickey on the parade float because someone told her he would throw beads. Everyone thinks Mickey has that big smile just cause he's having fun. Remember you didn't hear that from me so shhhhhh.;)

I had a "just beat me" busy week at work this week. Everything that could go wrong did. So I did a rare thing for me and bought beer on the way home and drank 2 before bed. I feel like someone has beaten me for sure this morning.:guilty:

I'll just do some easy walking at the mall while I wait for Erica to get off work, so we can go to breakfast. We even have one of her co-workers joining us.

If anyone is driving this weekend on the interstates please be careful, we need all our WISH Team.

Dave:hippie:

Morning everyone. I did 5 miles yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a walk.

Kathy---Great job on doing your 5 miler.

DAve--- Gosh your giving all of Jeanne's secrets away. How are you going to pary hardy after the ToT if 2 beers did you in?

All this talk about pedicures and foot massages made me go have a pedicure yesterday. It was wonderful and she could repair all my broken and missing toenails. I'm not ashamed to wear sandals again.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Nancy

Oh no, it looks like Dave's been communicating with John...or my kids. Only they know what momma will do for beads! :rotfl2: The real question is why does Minnie also have that big smile, hmmm? :rotfl:

Nancy: I'm jealous that you got your piggies taken care of. I love my new Ecco sandals but am too embarassed to wear them yet. Did you get to meet Cam?

Dave: sorry you had such a bad week at work. I know you work funny hours...will you at least get the holiday weekend?

Kathy: keep up the good work. It sounds like you and my husband are evenly paced.

Gotta go play some more horrendous golf....at least today is nice and cool!

Happy labor day everyone!

Good morning team

Great workouts everyone!!!!! Sorry this is a quick driveable. I started posting about a hour ago and got sidetracked so now I can only post quickly!!!

I need to boast a little here. DH and I did our longest walk ever last night. 19K.:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: we did it in 2:55, not sure of the MPH pace but I think w are ahead of the sweepers which is all I am aiming for. We didn't go too fast wanted to make sure we had enough in the tank to finish and we did!!!!!!

Gotta run heading out to yet another :headache: blue jays game.....

Have a great rest of the weekend

Kim

Well I like beads to.:hippie:

Erica and I have our weekend as monday and tuesday. Since we both work the normal weekend, this works great for us. We are racing tomorrow. A 2 mile walk race, it will draw about a 100 walkers, mostly power and fitness walkers but usually 10 to 15 racewalkers. My time last year was 22:28. I would love to break 22 this year but since the intense heat hit us I stopped doing speed work so if I can just equal last years time I'll be tickled.

Nancy, that is so cool that you met Cam and Howard, bet they are interesting to talk to.

Have a great weekend guys.

Dave:hippie:

Dave--- Good luck to you and Erica on your race tomorrow.

Kim---Great job on that 19K. You will do great at your half marathon at the end of the month.

Jeanne--- Just go get that pedicure. My toes are terrible, I now have 4 gel toenails since my great toe and second toe on both feet have fallen off after being black. I tried to explain to them what happens, but they don't care. At least they look good in the sandals. It was great meeting Cam and Howard. We could have talked for hours. The guys hardly get to say anything, you know how it is when the 4 of us get together. I have to share with you that Brian gave us a mini lecture about meeting up with people we met on the internet. I guess he thinks we are going to meet up with an axe murder sometime. You know how as children you lecture them about not talking to strangers, I guess that was his version to us. :confused3

It was such a beautiful day that we went to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. It is located only 45 minutes from our house. We usually go up each year, but I am always amazed how many people come in costume. It is hard to tell who are the actors and who are the visitors. The have some great wench outfits you could purchase for pirates night on the cruise which cost a small fortune. We had a little wine, eat some really good food and especially enjoyed the adult only shows. It was a fun day.

One more day off. :cheer2:
