Holy crap, Tracy, you don't mess around! And that kick up my butt really HURT! You are totally right....I need to write down my goals and get focused.
Tomorrow evening John and I will do a 5-mile walk which is a little bit long for a mid-week one, but we need to make up for our bad weekend. If i don't do it, I'm going to have to submit to another one of your lashings and I don't want that again!
One of the problems is that I recently lost part of my training route due to a major road that was under construction finally opening up to traffic. I need a change of venue and maybe Jackie can help with that.
Jackie: What is it with Galloway that leaves so many people injured? My neighbor who has run her whole life, but has always been afraid of events, finally registered for the City of Oaks Half. Then she signed up with Galloway and has developed PF so bad she can't do anything right now. Another friend, who is an instructor at the Y, is doing the Marine Corp marathon this month and then the Goofy in January. She's been training with Galloway and is recently nursing all sorts of injuries. I think John Bingham's program is so much safer. That's what I used last year and I was fine. This year is another story........Anyhow, I would LOVE to do some long walks together. it may just be the change I need. Please understand that the pace I did at the EEC is probably not going to happen anytime soon in the neasr future. I can go sub-13 for short walks (around 2 miles) but for the longer ones I'm more like a 14:15....which may be too slow for you. I was going to shoot for 10 this weekend and then 12 the next. That's because the weekend before City of Oaks, I'll be at TofT and that is only 8 so I was going to use it as a taper week. But i'm pretty flexible and as long as I get in one 12-miler before TofT, i'll be OK. If you don't think I'm too slow for you, let me know and I'll PM you my phone #. They just opened that long road in Heritage so i'm pretty bummed out about that. Have you ever done the 5-mile loop at Wakefield? It's brutal! I'd be willing to have you show me the greenway though. Other than Shelley lake, I 've never done the extension. Signing off now, more tomorrow.
I'm afraid Tracy's gonna have me licking her boots if I don't get my act in gear....no sweet dreams for me tonight!
