Called last night to reserve a scooter for our trip in September, after checking out their website. I was so surprised and happy to find that they now have a PINK scooter in support of the Susan G. Komen Cure for Cancer! I have been 2 years now and hope to be cured for good. But to find that a company is a supporter that I always use really makes me very happy! It is called the Princess Scooter and is a little cheaper than the standard. Where the standard is painted red, this is pink.

This company has handled whatever problem I might have had, a couple of silly things that I did, and have done it quickly and VERY courteously. There cannot be a better company than Walker Scooters! Wish they had one here where we live!

They also have strollers that they rent and not that badly priced, not 50 dollars a day like Disney! As much as I love Disney, I think that their prices for the handicapped are a little over the top.

Try Walker Scooters! You will be pleasantly surprised!

Wow! And the pink ones are actually cheaper? Frankly, I would expect they'd be a little more expensive, so many of us would want them. I know I would!

I have been using Walker for 13 years. I can tell you I have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Bob and John Walker often answer the phone and they, as well as their other employees, ALWAYS are happy and make you feel so important. March was the first time that I was in Disney since they stopped allowing all companies to leave the ECV's for the customers. The pick up and return process was so easy. Even when I had trouble with one scooter they came to me in the park and switched the scooter out for me.

I do not know why they are not on the preferred list. In my humble opinion they should be on the top of the list. But i HIGHLY recommend renting from them. I really don't think you can go wrong.

They're not on the preferred list? What, exactly does that mean? I know it has something to do with delivering to WDW. Does it just mean that you have to be there to accept delivery and when they come and pick it up?

When you make your reservation, based on your arrival, they will give you a 1 hour delivery window. The same for departure. The driver will also call when he is near the resort. When I used them in March I would say the driver showed up within the first 30 mins of the delivery window.

Do you have to meet them? I was of the impression that they can leave them at the resort for you.
What companies can leave them for you?

Look near the top of this board or follow the link in my signature to the disABILITIES FAQs thread.

Post 2 of that thread is about ECVs and has links and phone numbers to a number of companies, including preferred and non-preferred vendors.

There is nothing WRONG with the non- preferred companies - many of them, including Walker have been used and continue to be successfully used by many people.
Disney chose to make contracts with a smaller number of companies and give only those companies the ability to drop off and pick up from Bell Sevices. Post 2 of the FAQs thread explains a little more about that.

I agree with everything you said :). I have been using Walker for over ten years and have had excellent service. I have rented twice now since Disney initiated the preferred provider list. Both times the delivery and pick-up have been spot on.

What are their delivery hours? Will they deliver to a park?
