Walk Ups?

One of the things I hate about planning for WDW is figuring out which park I'm going to be in when for purposes of ADR's. I make them, but I hate to be tied to them.

It used to be that Disney reserved at least some tables for same day calls from the parks themselves and for walk-in's. Do they still do this, or are all available tables made available 90 days in advance for ADRs?

You can still walk up to most restuarants. You will find the more popular places are all booked up for example, Cinderella's (MK), Chef Mickey's (Contemporary) and Le Cellier (Epcot) almost never have avalaiblity for walk ups... if you get there right as they open or wait until about an hour until closing it is easier to get a walk up. While your wait will sometimes be fairly long, as a walk up, most places are still able to accomodate them.

Depends on the time of year you go too. When we were waiting to be seated at Le Cellier, there were walk-ups and she said nothing was available. She was able to tell them which were accepted walk-ups, but it was only like, 3 TS out of the WS.

We did a few last minute adr's for the same day when we were there in May. We ended up changing which park we were going to on the last minute which meant we wanted to change our dinner plans.

I don't know if they hold tables, but I've always had very good luck walking up, particularly a little early or a little late. Even when dining says there's nothing, I've had no problem at places like the California Grill and Chef Mickey's. But then, we tend to go in off season, so I've never tried it in the height of summer or between X-mas and New Year's day.

We went in May, which is not very busy at all, and a lot of our TS's were booked for the whole dinner service. It was kind of strange because the parks weren't that busy at all. I guess it depends on who "runs" the restaurant, since some aren't owned by Disney and such.
