Walk up for dinner at Yak and Yeti in early Dec?

I'm hitting Animal Kingdom on our arrival day, and I'd like to have dinner at Yak and Yeti.

What are my chances of walking up and getting a table?

Do I have to be out of there once the park closes at 5? If not, how late do the buses run?

You do not have to be out of there by park closing when dining at a park restaurant...though I am not sure what Y&Y's hours are. We have gone for walk in late lunches several times (never had trouble getting seated)...it's now a must do for us (a late lunch at Y&Y...around 2:00). We eat and head out of the park because we are usually done that park pretty quickly. We go to AK as early as we can so that we can ride EE a couple times and do the safari thing (before the park gets too busy). If it's hot weather we do the river rapids ride and we do some other random things and then eat our late lunch and leave.

Buses run at least one hour after closing, but they won't strand you at AK! There may be fewer buses and some lines will be consolidated after a while, but as long as there are guests eating, there will be some mode of transportation available to get you back to your resort.
