Walk me through check in online at 30 days

My 30 day mark is coming up and I have no idea what is needed for check in even though I'm platinum. Can someone help me by walking through the steps to check in? I know I have to pick a PAT that I normally don't need to do which makes this check in more important!

You need a selfie of everyone and a pic of your passports. You will upload all the pics during online checkin. Then you put down your method of payment, how you are getting to the port, etc and select a PAT.

It is very easy. I have done it 3 times so far. All on my iPhone. All pics were also taken with my iPhone.

Piggybacking on this... we have three staterooms, all linked. Will I be able to check in all of them, or only the one I'm in?

Following...we have 4 staterooms - all linked- should or can one person do the check-in for everyone? If 2
different people do the check-in and get different PATs, does the group have to split up and board at different times? We are all arriving together in on minivan so we are ONE travel party. If one of us tests positive and is denied boarding, then none of us board.

Each reservation number will need to be checked in separately but any one person can do it or you can all do individual check-ins. (If I remember correctly) if you get different PAT I would just arrive for the later time

I believe Americans can cruise on closed loop (beginning and ending in the same US port) with just a birth certificate.

AND Driver’s License or State ID.

BUT if you are disembarked from the cruise outside of the US, you will have time, stress, and expense to get an emergency passport. Something to consider.

Yes, I knew I was missing something. As a Canadian I need a passport no matter what.

Piggybacking on this... we have three staterooms, all linked. Will I be able to check in all of them, or only the one I'm in?

In the past, I have checked in for 2 staterooms. Assume it would be the same now

Because of the need to upload pictures, do y'all recommend using a smartphone for check-in? Or is a laptop ok if you have the pictures uploaded there?

I found a Disney checkin was easier with my smart phone because I could take pictures and upload fast. But to be honest I found the vaccine site safe passage was better with the desktop. I had some issues uploading my vac stuff on my phone. it might be easier for you to upload from your phone but then go to the desktop and double check everything from there you’ll get a better overview IMO

Yes, I knew I was missing something. As a Canadian I need a passport no matter what.

DCL will also accept a Nexus card - but since the rules of the Nexus program is that you should always carry your passport anyway...

I'm curious how long you stay in "pending review" status for check in. I'm all set and have my PAT; however, do they approve the pictures and docs pre-arrival or is that done when you arrive?

Our check-in date is mid-March. We just booked this cruise and our Passports are expired. We sent them all in for renewal yesterday (expedited). We should have them in time for our cruise, but not likely in time for online check-in. If we upload our birth cert images, can we go back and update with our Passport information at a later date once we have them back? We've always had current passports in hand at the time of check-in so never thought about it before!
