Walk me through an upgrade

I am wondering how this process actually works? I know it might not be available on each sailing but, if it is, how does it work? I know you check in at the desks on the left in the terminal. Does everyone in your party need to be there or can someone go find the upgrade desk and wait? How long after check in will the upgrade desk open to know what is available?

once you have checked in at the terminal if you go to the far right end of the check in counter you will find the supervisor desk. You can ask them if there are any upgrade rooms available. If there is they will tell you what the price difference is (much less than if you upgrade before the cruise online) and if you want the room they will apply the difference to your on board account and print out new KTTW cards. I highly recommend if you are serious about upgrading get to port when it opens at 10:30 and keep checking DCL website for your cruise to see if any rooms are available in a higher cat that you might want. We have upgraded at port from a 5E to a CL 1BR before. Even if none show on DCL website never hurts to ask. When we upgraded there were no CL staterooms showing on the DCL website but there was a last minute cancellation and if we hadn't asked we would not have known.

Correct. Just check in like normal and then head right to the supervisors desk. It will open. You ask about any upgrades and they will ask you what category you are looking for and then quote you a price. The price will be per cabin, not per person. Pay the difference, get your new KTTW cards and that's it. You may have to go to your original room location and locate your luggage as your tags will still have your original cabin on them.

Normally when you get to the port early, you can tell if there are upgrades as there is a line at the counter. Lots of people getting to the port early to check on upgrade availability.

It never hurts to check though.
