Has anyone been on this tour recently? Is it worth the time and $ for a fan? Planning a July trip and thinking it would be a nice change of pace and see the park from a different angle. July can be a busy time of year so it might be nice to ride a few rides, take in history and have lunch waiting...

I went on the tour with my DGD-19 a couple of years ago.
We felt it was just ok...... We really enjoyed going through the Dream Suite. Other than that we would have rather been off on our own.
Being serious Disneyland fans and going once or twice a year, the tour didn't add much for us.

We really enjoyed the Halloween Happy Haunts tour and we would do it again. But it's a Halloween time tour.

Take your own ear buds to connect to the recording device you'll be listening to.

I wish I could be there during Halloween! It's my favorite time of the year. Thanks, I will be sure to bring my own ear buds! Maybe I'll find some Disney ones :)

Went on this a few years ago. Being from the East it was interesting to hear all the Walt details. We did get to meet an original imagined who designed some of the rides and he told us stories. That was a highlight

I'm planning to do it in August. I've read some great reviews about it in other threads. Getting a special pin, lunch at JH, a tour of the dream suite, skipping a couple lines, AND hearing Walt speak while I'm in the park...I will probably cry. I get so emotional when I hear Walt lol

There is an AP discount, so I want to take advantage of that before mine expires.

We did this last year, and loved the tour, and everything that is included. Our guide was great and went to great lengths to ensure we had a great time. The tour included a stop at the Disney Dream Suite, which is an awesome place to visit. We had quick access to several rides, lunch, and they also gave us VIP access to a show for the evening. We are planning to do it again this upcoming trip. I would highly recommend it, if you are a Disney fananitic. PS bring your own headphones for the recorded audio, as their included headphones were hard to hear sometimes.

I've done this tour a few times now-- my 9yo daughter always wants to do it because she loves seeing the Dream Suite so much. But I don't think anything will ever top the first time: after hearing stories all day about how Walt and some other key players were instrumental in building the park, our group happened to run into Bob Gurr, once of those key players, and he accompanied us on the last 30 minutes or so of our tour, including the visit to Walt's apartment. It was surreal standing in Walt's apartment, talking to Bob Gurr about his good friend Walt.

I did it this past June, and I loved it. I was solo, but I want DH and DD8 along next time I do it. And there WILL be a next time! The Dream Suite is so amazing.

I think this is the first time I've seen VIP access to a evening show mentioned for this tour. Is this something new? What show did you go to and did you have actual seats? Thanks!

what is the cost?

According to the website, it's $109 per person and includes lunch or dinner at Jolly Holiday. I know you're supposed to get in to a few attractions with no line (it seems like PP was one of them at some point?) and someone said something about an evening show, but neither of those specifics are mentioned on the website ... just "subject to change."

I was thinking of doing this on my trip next week. Looks like you get a discount for using a Disney Visa card as well (15%). If I do it I will post a review here.

When I did it last June, the attractions were Alice and HM (which was down, so they substituted PotC), and we definitely did NOT get any kind of VIP access to the evening entertainment.

We got tickets to The Aladdin Show ( just before it changed to Frozen) and had VIP front row centre for the show. It was at the perfect spot to see all the action on the stage and the air. We were given the choice of which show we wanted to see.

This tour was on Oct 2, 2013. They were touring Walt's Apartment at that time, though; not the Dream Suite.
