Hi All,

I'm really good about making all my ADRs but can't get one for the 50's Prime Time Cafe. We're going last week in August during FD. Anyone have any experience with a walk-in there for dinner--probably around 7-ish?

Otherwise, I know our QS options are pretty limited at HS. Ooh! I just had an idea...are there any decent QS options at the Boardwalk? Maybe we could do that before heading back to the park for the evening--though that would mean bus to HS, walk to Boardwalk, eat, walk back to HS. Pretty time consuming. We're going to Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package for lunch earlier that day--couldn't get dinner, so we don't have to rush for the Fantasmic line up.

It's actually going to be our first time at HS, so all tips are welcome!

TIA:goodvibes

DSthen 18 and I went to WDW in May 2010.....

I tried Sci Fi and 50's at the concierge desk the day before at Beach Club and got walk ins for 50's Prime Time for 11am.....

So keep trying....

Also .... FYI I'm a HUGE Fan of F! dining package and have done all 3...

Mama Melrose is now my favorite...so have a Magical visit !

I love Sci-Fi Dine in. At Boardwalk they have a Corn Dog stand, like fair food. There is a quick service pizza counter. If you walk over to Yacht club, there is the Crews Cup, my new favorite spot for a casual lunch or dinner. Check out their menu, their Lobster sliders are really good, their salad is good, clam chowder is also good. At Beach Club there is Beaches and Cream, a really cute place, 50s themed soda fountain/diner, and serves food as well, the food is also quite good.

Just so you know, a walk-in at prime dinnertime during free dining is extremely unlikely. If you're going to walk in, it might be best to try as soon as they open for dinner. Same for Sci Fi. Party size might be a factor.

There is a sticky thread on this board showing all the CS options at the Epcot resorts. But you might find the options at DHS itself are not bad. People love Starring Rolls, although it closes at 4 to 4:30. I like the Studio Catering Company, Backlot Express isn't bad. You can also try eating at the bar at Prime Time. You won't get the full "interact with the server" experience, but you can get dinner. The bar might be full though, and hard to get five people seated there.

Your chance of a walk in 7 PM dinner at 50's PTC for a party of 5 are slim to none. Anything is possible, but it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY. If there was a table available you would be able to book it. I don't think you could even plan on 5 spots at the bar and would you really want to eat at a bar with kids your ages?
I would keep trying for an ADR as cancellations do occur.
We have found the Backlot Express to have decent QS food.
Good Luck

Anytime we have tried this, we always try first thing in the AM and see if they have any reservations for the day. Our other option is to sit at the bar area. You still get the great food and atmosphere, but not the show. Bar is first come first serve, so you may have to wait for a little.

You didn't say how many there are? If there were kids, I wouldn't sit them at the bar (personal preference).
