walk from Kidani to Jambo

Staying at Kidani this summer...

Where can I fill the refillable mug with coffee in morning? How about soft drinks? Only at Mara? No place to refill at Kidani by pool?

Much thanks!!!:goodvibes

Not sure if you got your answer yet. In Kidani, there are refill stations at the pool and at the main shop "Johari". Johari also has coffee and tea.

Have fun.

By pool for refills and at Jahari!

Perfect...love that morning coffee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:love::love::love::love:

I was wondering if i request a room close to jambo is there an exit i can take to go to jambo or would i still have to walk through kidanis lobby n walk to jambo?

You can take an elevator and exit via the parking, which is under the building.

The buses you are referring to are the park buses. EVERY park bus stops at Kidani first, then Jambo. So, you could jump on the first park bus that comes and get off at Jambo.

We chose to walk and it's not bad at all. We walked through Kidani--as far as you can go, then out the exit doors. There is a sidewalk and path that leads you right to the front entrance of Jambo. The entire walk from the lobby at Kidani took us about 4-5 minutes, walking at a normal (not slow) pace.

Otherwise you can exit the front of Jambo and follow the sidewalk--you are just outside longer.

Actually they run a van shuttle back and forth also.

Kidani decor and themeing is identical to Jambo. The rooms are exactly the same.

Theme might be similar and studios might be the same size, but the one and two bedrooms at Kidani are much different than Jambo. For one thing they are larger and have an extra bathroom just as you come in the door across from the laundry. The one bedroom at Jambo is 720 sq. feet, Kindani is 807. The master bath at Kidani is huge.http://**************.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/final-kid-one.jpg

Thanks! Any recomended room requests i should make? Im book a standard view studio

It is a lot faster if you cut through the savanna, just watch for the lions. :)

That may not be true in the morning. When we stayed at Kidani Village in December both Jambo House and Kidani Village sometimes each had their own bus going to the parks. They were trying to get the guests to the parks quicker. I don't know if that was an experiment on an ongoing change. I would always ask the driver to be sure.

How far you have to walk from Kidani to Jambo really depends on where your room is. Approximate distances to Jambo:

1. Front door to Front door: 1/2 mile. Besides the buses that run to the parks that you can use to go to Jambo, there is a shuttle that runs front door to frint door usually about every 15 minutes and you can ask for it in lobby. If you walk, it is mostly sidewalk.

2. North Wing: up to about 5/6 mile. Kidani has two wings, north which runs away from the walkway that leads to Jambo and south which runs towards Jambo's front entrance. Those wings are extremely long. The pool is on the north wing side, as is all of Pembe savanna. If you get a room at the end of the north wing, you will be 1/3 mile from the Kidani lobby and thus 5/6 mile from Jambo's front door.

3. South Wong: as little as 1/4 mile. Each wing has three elevators along the wing, one close to the lobby, one about 1/4 of the way down from the lobby and then one about 3/4 of the way down from the lobby. The elevators other than the ones closest to the lobby have names. On the north wing, there is Rafiki about 1/4 of the way down and Pumba 3/4. On the South wing, Timon is 1/4 the way down and Zazu 3/4. The elevators go down to the under-building parking lot, from which you can walk out from the building. The shortest walk to Jambo from the south wing is via the Zazu elevator to the ground floor and distance from there to front door of Jambo is about 1/4 mile.

As to the desire for a "quieter" location, be aware that generally describes all of Kidani as there really is not any noisy location although you can hear some bus noise from some standard rooms not far from the lobby on the south wing if you have your balcony doors open. Otherwise the main risk of noise is simply loud people walking past your door. If what you really want is the shortest walk to Jambo, then you should request close to the Zazu elevator, where the entire area is quiet. But be aware that will put you about 1/3 mile from the Kidani pool. If instead, you want to be near the Kidanu pool, you should request a room close to the Rafiki elevator on the north wing (down that elevator to ground floor gives you the shortest possible walk to a gate to the pool).

As to the rooms, they are dark like the ones in Jambo. You do not say what size room you have. If studio, those are about the same size as Jambo and biggest difference to consider is that at Jambo the shower is in a separate room with the toilet, while at Kidani it is next to the bathroom sink area and can be seen by anyone in that area. It is the 1BRs and 2BRs that make Kidani ideal. They are about 100 sq ft larger than the ones at Jambo, have the extra bathroom, and nicer overall.

DH & I had a 6 night stay at Kidani this past December. We loved it! We have stayed at Kidani before but for shorter visits. We found it to be very quiet and convenient. Previously, we have done longer visits at Jambo House before Kidani was built. While we love both, I think we will choose Kidani for longer visits now. We were amazed at how little time it took to walk between Kidani & Jambo which we only did one time for lunch on a down day. We stopped at the Kidani gift shop to refill our mugs with soft drinks, coffee, and hot chocolate. That being said, we have a one night stay booked at Jambo House in May on our way back from Vero so we can check out the Flower & Garden show.

We use this little van shuttle all the time, especially when we will be swimming at the other hotel's pool. Walking back in a wet swim suit is not much fun, so we just hop on the shuttle van. They have towels in the van for you to sit on if you're wet. It runs every 5-7 minutes, it just drives back and forth, so if it's not there when you get down it will be shortly. The van picks you up right outside the lobby, and is totally separate from the buses.

Last trip I got off the bus at Jambo (after returning from DTD) and walked over to Kidani, I walked slowly, and still beat the bus to it's second Kidani stop.

I'm glad to see this post. I had heard that there is a bus shuttle between the two resorts but I never could figure out where it dropped off and pickup. Thanks! We may have to try that.

Just out of curiosity, when did they start that shuttle? I've stayed at Jambo 3 times (Dec. 2010, Dec. 2012, Jan. 2015) and have never seen it.

We have used it for several years. It pulls up right in front of the main entrance. It is not a large van, possibly 12 passenger. I want say it has Animal Kingdom Lodge on it, but not sure about that. It might just be white. You have probably seen it and didn't even notice.

My answer was from 2010. Things may have changed since then.

Obviously things may have changed since my post in 2010. I can't comment on what's new for AKV transportation, as we generally have our car and drive to the parks since moving to FL 2 1/2 years ago. :)
