Wondering what the major differences are? We are regular Swan and Dolphin fans and notice the differences, now, after a few stays...wondering for those of you who have checked out both of these resorts (WA vs Hilton) which one you prefer? We'll be there in January and staying on DH points. Looking forward to your replies - we're excited about either of these resorts! :thumbsup2 Thanks :)

I stayed at the Hilton Last summer, My BIL stayed at The Waldorf at the same time. We preferred the Hilton... The pool area in my opinion is the best anywhere!!!! I haven't been in a pool in years, watching my daughters having so much fun floating by, and everyone else, I bought a swimsuit at the gift shop and got in the pool. Amazing, relaxing!!!!!! The food at the Bistro is wonderful too. Kids under 12 eat free at the buffet. Room service was great, I could not find anything to complain about the entire time.

Hi,

I think both hotels have their own transportation bus to the parks . Also they do not participate in the Extra Magic Hours ( unlike the Hilton by downtown disney) if that is important to you.

both look great but for myself (relying on Disney/shuttle transportation) the Hilton in Downtown Disney is slightly preferrable transportation wise.

I'm sure you will have a great time!

Regards

We stayed at the Hitlon BC in march. It was fantastic. The staff was fantastic and we were treated royally. The grounds and pool are beautiful. Excellent options for dining and snacking.

The WA and HBC have a shared bus to the parks. It runs on a schedule.

When you are at either hotel you have full access to both so I would probably stick with the Hilton to save a few dollars. I don't imagine there is that much difference.....only paying to sat you stayed at the WA.

I've stayed at both, and both are nice and present a great value for what you get. In the case of the Hilton, rates are similar to a Disney moderate, and yet it's more on par with a deluxe. For the Waldorf, rates are less than Disney deluxe, and yet you get true deluxe, not Disney's version.

Both have their pros and cons. We don't have kids, so I actually prefer the Waldorf pool. Quieter and more like the pools at other hotels we frequent. On the other hand, I like popping down for coffee and a pastry for breakfast, and the Waldorf doesn't have great options here, whereas the Hilton has a great place in the lobby. Waldorf is valet only, Hilton has valet and self park.

After a couple stays at the Waldorf, we've since moved over to the Hilton for the last few for the same reason as dancin Disney mentioned above. Basically, we save a few bucks and stay at the Hilton, but walk over and use the Waldorf pool etc...

I did a review on my travel blog for both that can be found here... Hilton. Waldorf.

:goodvibes Those are all very helpful reviews...I think we may try out the Hilton property. Any additional advice for breakfast places? We're a family of 4 - 2 adults and 2 kiddos ages 9 and 12 - both good eaters.

Will you have a car? The Hilton has a self-park option for $13/day. The WA has valet only, and I don't think WA guests can use the Hilton's self-park.

Kids eat free at the Hilton Bistro buffet, but adults are $19 each. Good price if you have kids, not so good IMO if you don't, but I'm cheap like that :). I either ate in my room (brought stuff with me, got half-gallon of milk at the Contemporary) or at a park. A pint of milk at the Hilton in the Bistro gift shop was $3.26! A half gallon at the Contemporary was the same price. I tried to get it at the Poly when I went there for fireworks, but they were out, so I got it the next night when I left MK (stopped at Contemporary on the way to the TTC to catch the Hilton shuttle).

If you have no car, you could take the shuttle over to a WDW park and head to a resort to eat breakfast. But, you must try the huge cinnamon rolls at the Hilton in Muse! Oh, mylanta!

How could I forget the cinnamon rolls....indeed they are awesome...

When you book a room on points at the Hilton, they offer you upgrades to the Waldorf and for suites at reduced prices. So, you can do part on points and part paid, but I don't remember the exact prices of the upgrades.

Really? That's a great tip :thumbsup2 Thank you...we have enough points for the entire stay at Hilton. I'm gonna call today :)
