I am thinking of spending a week in New York and was looking at hotels. Does anyone have any reviews on this hotel? Or if there are better which one would you recomend? I am talking about 4/20 to 4/26 period.

The Waldorf is one of the top hotels in NYC, and I mean the top three, as far as I'm concerned).

Over the years, it has lost it's "old money" atmosphere due to the hoards of the nouveau riche, but elegant and luxurious it still is! If you like the old art-deco style with a bit more class, you'll love this hotel. The history and list of famous guests itself it enough to want to be there! Good location, too. It can be expensive, though.

Personally I prefer the Marriott Marquis which is in the heart of Times Square.

We stayed there for DD's sweet 16. Any questions, please ask.

DH and I just stayed at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in a "King Corner" room. This room, two of the walls are all windows and since it's on a corner, you can see a lot of the city. It was quiet, the staff was excellent, and the location was perfect for us. I highly recommend it!

The Waldorf is absolutely smashing. Think Claridge's, or the Connaught - excellent, discreet service, still retains old world charm, lots of people watching - GREAT bar.
