Wal-Mart Moneycard - Any Experience at Disney?

I am one those "weirdos" who like to have virtually everything paid before going on a trip. I have even added the deluxe dining plan (I know, I could save a bit by paying cash and planning which restaurants, etc... but my daughter really wants to go to A LOT of sit down restaurants, plus we are doing some signature/shows/CRT).

I do not really want to run up bills on a credit card (even though I know I could pay it off at the end of the trip). Again, I like everything in a "pre-paid" state, and then just taking along extra cash for added amenities, etc, and reserve the credit card for any emergencies, etc. Plus, with the current bank rates, the little interest I would get by keeping the money in the bank and not paying everything off early is so minimal. I write that off as an expense well worth spending to have the relaxed feeling that I am all set to go without having to allocate money just before leaving.

So, one thing I was doing was adding money to a pre-paid Wal-Mart Moneycard, which is a Visa debit card. From everything I can tell, it SHOULD be accepted at Disney World, but I always worry about some of those small print clauses. So, has anyone used one of these at Disney World? If so (and it works fine), I will add more money to it. If not, I will probably take a little more cash. Just trying to minimize the amount of cash to take.

Why not just get a generic visa gift card and add the money you want, they are taken everywhere.

Or a Disney Gift, a lot easier to use as each receipt gives you a balance.

Any one in retail will say they hate Visa/Master Card gift cards.

I work at WalMart as well and have had the card since its inception as well as a WalMart paycard. That being said, I only use those cards for all of my vacations, including our trips on the DCL. They worked fine and I incurre no additional fees or problems. Plus its great to be able to get text updates on your balance immeidately, so no guessing about how much money you have left.

Hope this helps. Have a great trip.

I use a Disney gift card....however, the only problem with that is...if you don't spend all of the money, then it sits there until the next time you go to Disney (or use it in a Disney Store)

I have a separate account at my bank...in which I have a Debit/Credit card. I put my spending money on that and use it. I also carry a credit card just in case of an emergency.
