Waitlists BLT in May

I have two reservations in May:
BLT 1 bed for two nights (standard view)
BLT studio for one night (lake view)

Tonight I put in two wait lists.

One was for a BLT 1 bed (standard view) for that third night.
If it comes thorough, can I link the two reservations so that we'll have the same 1 bed (standard view) for all three nights?

One was for BLT 2 bed (standard view) for all three nights.
If it comes through, will they cancel BOTH of my reservations (I clicked for them to do that and indicated the three dates that include both reservations, but it didn't spell it out).

For both of them I clicked to keep until the 7 day mark (I'd rather have either of these than my current option). Is that smart/dumb?

Any insider tips?

Dang! I miss ******!!

Yes, if the 1 bedroom comes through, you can ask to have them combined into one. I'd call MS and make sure the note what you want cancelled with the 2 bedroom. If one comes through, the other waitlist is automatically cancelled.

Yes - either call or email MS to make sure BOTH waitlists have the proper notes detailing how you want to end up.

It may be a better choice to email MS with that info - you'll have a written record. If you go this route, be very sure to include all the relevant information such as your member number, the reservation numbers, etc.

The only advice I can give is that a lakeview waitlist is much more likely to come through at this point than a standard so if you really want to stay in the same room and you have the points try for a lakeview waitlist instead of a standard view.

Thanks so much for all your advice!

I'm about to call MS (and then plan to follow up with an email).

Here's what I'd like (in order of what I'd like most):
1) For the 1 bed (standard) to come through for that last night.
2) For a 1 bed (lake view) for all three nights.
3) For a 2 bed (lake or standard) for all three nights.
4) Grand Villa (any view) for two nights and keep our third night as is.

Which two WLs should I ask for? I would hate to ask for an impossible wait list option (essentially "wasting" it).

We made our plans seeing that we'd have an additional 5 (non bank-able) points this year. No problem, we thought- we'll go back in September! Then I found out that we'll be expanding our family in October and don't think I'll be able to make it back to WDW before April (I like to wait until baby is 1). So now I'm in the fun position of trying to spend more points on this vacation! :)

Ok-- wait-- new list...

I think I'd either like:

2 bed (lake view... since it's more likely?) for the first two nights, then keep our studio for the last night

or

Keep the WL request of getting a third night of a one-bedroom (so we don't have to switch rooms). Since we already have two nights booked at standard view, I assumed it was better to get a ask for that? Or is it more likely to waitlist a 1 bedroom lakeview for the three nights?

In other words- what is more likely to come through:
A one bedroom standard view for a Sunday night
or
A one bedroom lake view for a Fri, Sat and Sun night

Also, for the 2 bedroom lakeview request, should I ask for a lock-off or not? I don't care, so I'm wondering which is more likely to come through?

Thanks everyone! I'm, of course, so happy for this little blessing (and will gladly sacrifice the 5 points if needed) but if we can upgrade, that would be great, too! :)

I would think the lakeview of any size are more likely to come through they are 70% of the resort rooms so there are a lot more possibilities for them coming through. A dedicated 2 bedroom is more likely to come through than a lock-off since many of the lock-offs are broken out for studios and 1 bedrooms and the resort has the same number of lock-offs as dedicated in total inventory.

Update!

I've been stalking the website in hopes to snag anything... and already this morning a 2 bed standard view was available for our dates!! So I snagged it and cancelled the wait lists. I was happy to use the points for the lake view (and since it was more likely I put that for my WL) but I'm glad it worked out so I can save the 14 points for later. My husband was laughing about how finally my determination/stubbornness paid off in his favor! ;)
