I would like to know if any of you have ever waitlisted for Conciere at AKV and it came through? If so, what time of year and what size of accomodations?
Thanks!
It took me 3 tries once in mid Oct, once after turkey day (before the Dec rush), and third time was end of May to get the Concierge level. I wait listed the first 2 times, the 3rd time I got it at 11 months doing the old trick of booking a day at a time.
We got a Studio the time we stayed the other two times I was booking a 2br. The wait listing never came though.
I'm wondering with the current economy if it will be easier or harder to get concierge. It seems like things are slow, with the book 4 get 3 and stuff like that.
But DVC is a different animal. So IF you have DVC points and you just want to use them or lose them. Are people who maybe in the past would do 2-3 trips a year, saying lets do 1 but we'll get the concierge instead. Or are things SO tight, that people just aren't booking at all and banking the points for next year.
The Concierge is so small, ~5 2br rooms (or something like that.) I would be surprised if they ever get more than 1 or 2 reservations into the wait list.
Well, I know chances are slim, but I'm waitlisted for a studio at the end of Aug. to the first few days in Sept. I called on the day of my 7 month mark. I was also told something about Member Services needs to have in writing the authorization to take the extra points out, in case the waitlist comes through. Can that be sent by email or do I actually have to handwrite one? I forgot to ask when I had them on the phone.
