Hi, I have a reservation for 8/28 through 9/1 at AKV 1 bedroom Jambo house. We are waitlisted for Kidani village. I have heard that some people call to check the waitlist and others checking online at the reservation. Which do you all recommend??

Thanks!

Checking on-line is faster and doesn't tie up a MS Adviser who could be making a reservation for one of your fellow DVCers.

We had a waitlist that came through for us for Dec 3 at AKV KV, it was our first waitlist. We never did talk to MS, every other day I would check online and one day it was there. I am thinking the same thing as the above poster about tying up a MS advisor that could be helping someone else.

Just wish we could make/change waitlist requests online. Well, and live reservations for that matter.

Maybe someday.....

We just had a wait list experience that proved calling works. We had scheduled a studio at AKV KV for Nov (over Thanksgiving) and wanted to change it to check in earlier by 3 days and check out earlier by 2. When we called to check, no availability on arriving earlier, so we wait listed. Less than an hour later we called about another trip scheduled for this year (husband called while at work and then talked to me - you know how that goes), anyway while he was on the phone he asked them to double check the Nov availability and there it was - no problem. I'm not confident that we could have gotten our dates changed around if he hadn't have called back.

I was on a waitlist for a one bedroom savanah view but really would have taken any 1 bedroom. At member services suggestion, I called every few days and ended up getting a different option. If you are flexible I would call. You can also have them set up two waitlists-- for different views.

Funny, I'm waiting for a waitlist for the same time at the same place. We're going 11/30-12/11. I was able to get Jambo for 11/30-12/6 only. We had to take SSR for 12/6-12/11. I didn't realize I could check online. I'll remember that! Thanks!

Keep in mind, the only thing you will see on line for a wait list if it's fulfilled. If it was set to replace a reservation, you would see the new reservation but the original one would be gone. No indication of active wait lists on the website.

I think that they would better the situation if they would show the wait lists you have under vacation details. I heard that the system would go thru and pick dates for your trip and once they are filled it would complete the wait list, this is not what was explained to me from MS but it would be a great idea. I'm going to call every 2 days just and hopefully it helps the situation. When I called yesterday they had every other night available for the entire length of the trip, it would be a great idea if the idea of pulling the dates out you need till complete.

If you do notice that your WL has come through, make sure that you check your points carefully to insure that the proper points were used in the proper UY.

We had two waitlisted days for our Oct./Nov. trip and I checked online everyday (ok, probably 3-4 times a day!!) and they just showed up the last two days.

Good luck!!
