We are cruising in may and decided to try for a night at VB (our first stay there). we have a family of 5 so we need a 1br or 2 inns/studios. We are about 5 wks out from the reservation, which is on a Saturday. Does anyone know our chances of getting the waitlist confirmed? They have the 2 studios available but I am leery booking it with an open waitlist as well. From what I read, if the wait list gets confirmed within the 31 days of the reservation, then the points we had for the studios will be holding points, which we don't want.

I would only waitlist for 2 OVIRs which are the same cost per night as the studios. They even have internally connecting OVIR, and I would request them. You may not get them, but the OVIRs are very nice and have 2 queen beds in each one. The studios have 1 queen bed and a pull out sofa bed. Do they have the garden view inn rooms available? Those also have the 2 queens in each.

Actually, it is the 1br that is waitlisted. They have the studios and the inn rooms available but since we are 2A 3children, we would rather have the 1br, not the inn rooms since dh and I would have to split rooms.

As you are only staying 1 night AND going on the cruise...do you really want to be that far away from Port Canaveral and have to deal with rental cars? IMHO, when we did the cruise...we stayed at SSR (not pushing that resort..just any resort on property), you get the magical express which takes you directly to the boat.

It seems like more trouble than not, to rent a car, drive 2 hours, check in at 4pm...so you arent really "enjoying the place", getting up early to drive to port canaveral.

I love VB, but not sure you will get the real feel of the resort with a short stay.

PS..the cruise is amazing..you wil have a great time.
