Waitlist strategy advice wanted ...

Hi -

DD12 and I just decided to do a fairly short notice "School's Out" trip.

We will be staying June 27 through July 2. I was able to book June 27 and 28 at VWL in a studio and June 29 through July 2 in a SSR studio. We would really like to stay at VWL, BCV, BWV, or AKV instead of SSR for the last 3 nights.

Right now I am waitlisted for a studio at any of those resorts for all 3 nights. I was afraid day by day would be too risky. The only other thought I had was to just waitlist at BWV since that is the largest resort and risk doing a day by day waitlist there.

What do you think the best strategy would be ?

Am I unrealistic to think that the wiatlist will work for us if I ask for all 3 days together ? :

You just never know. You don't know if anyone is in line ahead of you for the same accommodation at the same time. You also don't know when someone will cancel a week long vacation that just happens to be your dates.
All you can do is try.

Yep...and hope that Tink comes through with extra pixie dust! I am waiting for the nights of July 3rd and July 7th for a studio at VWL. Those are the beginning and end of our last minute trip. Hopefully we will both be posting (soon!!) that our waitlists came thru!

I've been on the waitlist now since Feb. for a 1 bdr. standard at BWV for 6/26. It's for the first night. Right now we have a ressie for a bw view room for just that night and then we have a standard for the next 6 nights. It would just be easier to have the same room for the entire trip.

I thought it would be easy getting one night, but it seems impossible. I'll be on the list as long as I can before my trip and then I'll call several times a day if I need to the week of our trip.
