Waitlist Results - 1 day only vs multiple days?

I've been waiting for a waitlist to come through for at leat 5-6 weeks now. IT is two days together at BCV at the end on Sept. I have a back-up reservation, so that isn't the problem. We are just trying to get some friends at the same hotel we are at. Anyway, there has been no waitlist success with this, so I called MS and told the CM that I wanted to change my waitlist from 2 days to one day, becasue I though I had a better shot at having it filled one day at a time. He asked how long I have been on the waitlist and when I told him 5-6 weeks, he encouraged me not to switch my waitlist because that would bounce me back to the bottom of the list and I was probably pretty close to the top.

After talking to him I let it stand and figured I'd wait a few more days, but what do you all think? I still think that going from a 2 day waitlist to a one day would give me better results, but starting back at the bottom may make it all a wash.

I would leave it at two days and start calling to check on the availability of the day that's consecutive with your reservation. We have had pretty good results doing this. We were recently able to add two days to our December ressie, and now are only waiting on the first day. As it gets closer to 30 days things should start to open up. Good luck!!
