Waitlist Questions

Hello all. After having to reschedule a stay just a few days prior to the check in date a few weeks ago, I have an upcoming split stay booked. I'm on a waitlist for one night, and if it comes through it would mean I wouldn't have to do the split stay and could likely stay in one room. I have a couple questions about the list.

1) I'm past the 31 day mark for the trip to start. Currently my waitlisted night is set to cancel within 7 days of my stay. Is there a point to stalk the website after we are 7 days out? I'm just not sure why I couldn't select right up to the day prior and then cancel the stay since my points are in holding anyway.

2) I'm not sure how the list actually works. Does Disney just check frequently like I do myself? I'm not sure if I need to be checking the site at all now (I have been though, a lot)?

Thanks in advance.

My assumption for the 7 days is so CMs have time to process it. The system does not check as often as you can by stalking. I would continue doing so.

I was just recently on a wait list that luckily came through for me. I went through member services to book and be placed on the wait list. I was told by the CM's more than once that once you are on a wait list it is completely computerized and they are not involved in the process. I do not know if they were just telling me that so I don't keep calling in or because I was trying to change from BLT to Boardwalk. Also since Boardwalk was fewer points than BLT I needed the waitlist to expire 31 days prior to the trip to avoid points being placed in the holding account if it came through.

CMs are not involved while the system searches for matches. That is true.

But once a match occurs, then a CM must process the match.
