Waitlist Question

I'm sure this has been asked before, and if I were paying attention in class I'd know the answer.

I've booked a few nights at VWL for February to the tune of 105 points. If I waitlist a standard at BWV for 84 points, and it goes through, what happens to the 21 points? My use year is Oct, and this is booked on current points.

Can those 21 points be banked or do I have to use them by September 30th? I don't think we'll go again before next fall.

If the waitlist goes through less than 31 days out, the extra points go into holding and will need to be used by the end of the Use Year. But if it happened 31 or more days out, you could bank the extra points.

Ah, that's why they ask you if you want to waitlist 31 or 7 days before travel.

Thanks, D&B. Now we just have to decide if we want to try BWV. We stayed at VWL in March and loved it.
