waitlist question

I made reservations yesterday for a dedicated studio at AKV Jambo for 7/25-7/28. What we really wanted was concierge. I know our chances are slim, but I went ahead and asked to be put on waitlist. When I go to DVC.com I don't see anything that says waitlist. Should I see something? MS said I would not have to call back and check but from what I've read on this board it may not be a bad idea to call once in a while and check??? Any advice is appreciated.

There is no waitlist section on the member site, I wish there was though. Once your waitlist comes through you will see your reservation on line change....points and accomodations. The other thing you could do if you have enough points is book day by day...so for your trip the stay is for the nights of 25, 26, 27. Keep calling and get the nights you need and MS will connect them. On the waitlist side of things, the waitlist will not come through until all three 3 days are available.

This past November I booked BCV this way. I knew during F&W that getting a full week to pop for our waitlist was wishful thinking. The good thing is we had the points and I would call MS almost daily and book a night or two depending on what was available. Before we knew it the week was complete.

Thanks for the advice. How soon do you think I need to start calling since the travel date is 7 months away?
