waitlist question....looking for advice....

Hi all! I just planned a quick get-a-way for the end of August (Aug 24-28) due to cheap airfare on Southwest. I booked a studio at OKW but really have my heart set on BCV. I ended up waitlisting for it and was wondering what everyone thought my chances were since those dates aren't too far away. Also I was looking on any info about how the parks are and any advice you could give me. I've only gone during October and January so this will be a completely different experience. Thanks in advance for any info you can give me!!!

Re the waitlist - ya never know. OKW tends to be the easiest to get in to, but at least you've got somewhere to stay. If you've never stayed at OKW, you may be pleasantly surprised.

The parks will be on the downward trend with crowds, but, Lordy, it's gonna be H-O-T, with plenty of chances of rain. That's never stopped us, however.

very, very hot, humity, - so try to plan for night - early evening visits to the park. (if possible - don't remember the closing hours for August)

We had a great experience with a waitlist this summer - for mid-August in Hilton Head no less - ultimate high season!

We waitlist 'ed individual days and low-and-behold MS started calling about a month later with the days.

Making an OKW ressie was smart, at least you're going, right?

We've got a couple of days on a UPH and 76 un-used points left over, and we've love to be going if we could squeeze in the time.

With the waitlist, you just never know. The best chance will probably be 31-30 days ahead of arrival as anyone who isn't absolutely sure of their dates will cancel to avoid having their points go into the holding account.

Since you already have a back up plan, be sure to call at the 30 day mark to let MS now you want to stay on the waitlist. If nothing comes through, call every day once you get to the 7 day mark - all waitlists expire at the 7 day mark.
