waitlist issues, and website.

We have bunch of nights at BLT, a few at BWV and a few at BCV. We would like to get as much as possible at BCV. I had a one night waitlist set up for a month of so. And a three night waitlist for a few weeks.

This morning at 7:50 I saw a bunch of nights at BCV open. Maybe 5 or 6 nights, like someone just cancelled . I was so excited. I tried to figure out how to grab the two nights I wanted but was afraid to mess it up like I did with BLT last time. But I had that one night waitlist, so I figured I get at least the one night. About 10 mins later the nights are gone. 30 mins later still not seeing a change to my dashboard. But was told before, the computer grabs it but it takes a while for the site to catch up. When shopping, came back, still nothing.

Did Chat, no, no waitlist was filled. But I saw it online. It was probably an error. Even if you tried to book it, it probably wouldn't have gone through.

Has anyone heard of this?

If you ever see the nights you want, grab them. Do not rely on the waitlist to pick it up for you. Modify your current reservation to pick up that room immediately. The nights probably were there but sounds like someone picked them up already by now.

I had a three night reservation. If I had grabbed the two nights, wouldn't that had cancelled all three nights?

In order to book them independently of my BWV nights, I would have had to borrow points from 2025 which I don't want to.

I am trying to book this trip, to make is as easy as possible to cancel if we need to due to health issues.

It’s possible that a waitlist ended up grabbing them after you saw them disappear but they went to someone else who was ahead of you.

If you had tried to book and room isn’t really there, it will error out.

And yes, if you modify a three night to two nights, you’d lose that other night.

I'm surprised to see it on the website at all if there were waitlists. It was there for several mins at least. And who knows how long before I saw it.

The waitlist system, from what we believe, isn’t a continuous run, but runs a lot over the course of the day. It was mentioned to me…but can not confirm, that the first check is for an exact match…if there is not one, we might see them before the system goes back and checks again.

The one thing I am seeing is that it’s not consistent. I have canceled nights and they don’t show up and other times they do. It happened for a September trip…was stalking and refreshing and all the days around my missing night showed up and mine did not..I was fortunate that I got the waitlist!

It’s why I stalk,,now I did just get my one night BCV waitlist for January last week and had only been on it for two days and never saw it show back up in all my checking.

There have been times where I’ve had a 1 night waitlist that hasn’t filled, but through stalking I see the exact room I’m trying to get. The waitlist system isn’t an instant system so that’s why I say book what you can when you see it.

I had a 2 night waitlist set up recently but I stalked the website daily and filled it myself. I’ve read that a human has to do the match and this was early in the am so if that is the case, the fact that it didn’t automatically fill makes sense, but who knows, certainly not me!

I am a big fan of stalking and have gotten everything I’ve hoped for. Hopefully you will be lucky as well!

When I modified a 6 night blt standard 1 bedroom in the first week in dec. To a one night stay at BWV……..yeah, nothing dumber than that…..the CM said the wait list had already grabbed a few of the nights. And this was within mins , like under five. I believe, but not sure, she said computer grabs right away, but it takes time for a human to post it.

I just did chat again asking if the three night stay could be broken into one night stays so I could look on my own too. No, if they tried I could lose the nights because you have to cancel and rebook.

So unless all three nights come up , I have to depend on the 1 and 2 night wait lists to work.

Will this work? If I see one night at BCV , borrow 30 ish points. Cancelled the same BWV night. Hunt for next BCV nights, I now have enough points in use year, no need to borrow more. And repeat. And then in the end, I would have 30 ish point to bank into the next year.

My thinking I'm only putting 30ish points in jeopardy, not the 90 ish I was thinking.

BCV is a point or two cheaper than BWV but I don't care if we lose a few points. And nothing at all against BWV , it's just longer walker to Epcot and/or skyliner.


But the days are on a weekend. Probably, not much hope.

Agree there might still be a reasonable chance for a 1BR. As folks get closer to 30 days for cancellations without restrictions, an opening might come up.
