We've had a ressie for June 5 - 11 at BWV 1 BR for several months. We have been waitlisted (whole trip, not day by day) for about 6 weeks. I started calling a couple weeks ago to check if any 2 BR have opened up. Nothing was showing up until Monday. I called, and there was a 2 BR available at BWV for the first 3 nights of our stay. Great, we'll take them! MS lady was very nice and pleasant to work with. I called yesterday. Nothing, but MS was pleasant enough. I called today and the MS lady ran down the list of our upcoming trips. "And what can I help you with today"? she asked. I told her I wondered if, perhaps, a 2 BR was available for the 8th at BWV. "You're on the waitlist", she said, I told her I knew that, however, I was hoping to switch to a 2 BR day by day. "Then, why didn't you waitlist day by day?" Kinda snippy, too. I explained that I didn't want to risk getting a 2 BR for, maybe, only a day or two in the middle of the trip. She seemed rather annoyed with my request. She checked and found nothing. I said "thank you" and hung up.

After I hung up, I told my wife I felt like I had been scolded by MS. Has anyone else ever been "scolded" by MS?

I hope she doesn't answer tomorrow when I call :)

Sorry MS was rude, it isn't standard.

Just a thought, why not put a second request in for the night of the 8th only. I have had multiple waitlist requests at the same time. If it comes through, than modify your otherwait list request as needed.

Good Luck
Sandy

I've had two recent negative experiences involving MS, both involving written reservation confirmation letters. In the first instance, I switched a Thanksgiving reservation from VWL to OKW day by day and was told I would receive a global confirmation booking the last night. Instead, I rec'd a confirmation for one night only. When I called and inquired, (after waiting 10 minutes on hold) I was abruptly told one would be mailed. I still haven't rec'd it. More recently, I called about a confirmation for a stay at OKW where I made a request for 1'st or 2nd floor villa. The confirmation read:
Prefer 3'rd floor
Prefer 2'nd floor
Request 1st or 2'nd floor
Obviously this didn't make sense to enter it into the system that way. When I called to correct it, I was again abruptly asked "well which do you want?" Kind of a rude way to correct what was obviously their mistake.

Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with this thread or the OT, but look at it this way:

The people who post on this board probably represent a very small percentage of total membership. There are times when "newbies" or even old timers will post a question that I'm sure all of us have at one time or another sorta rolled our eyes and thought "Duh", (that statemet probaly sounds harsher then it was intended to sound). Now imagine yourself as a member of MS, taking tons and tons of calls daily, weekly, monthly. How many "Duh" questions must they get ? And maybe they've been on a real "Duh" streak and then you're their next call. I'm not trying to excuse rude behavior or poor service, but I think we've all been in a position where our nerves are shot and we take it out on the wrong people.

I do give MS the benefit of the doubt and agree that there are probably lots of difficult calls to handle. I guess I am equally concerned that the last two confirmations I received were incorrect resulting in the need to call them back and discuss it.

I just spoke with Paige at MS. I took Sandy's advice and added a waitlist for June 8th. There was nothing available this morning. Paige was very pleasant and I've forgotten all about my "scolding" from yesterday :)

Thanks for the advice!!!
