I've showed DH all the pictures of SSR and he doesn't care for it at all. He loves the Epcot resorts. Is it possible to go on a waitlist for BCV? I'm not in a huge hurry for this (yea right) ;) but I would like to know if this is a possiblity. I know I can see what timeshares are on the resell market with places like The Timeshare Store, but I don't feel all that comfortable with going that route.

though its not an epccot resort we recently waitlisted with DVC for wilderness lodge and received all 200 points offer within a week of wait listing....or was it 2 weeks....it was a way short wait

I understand the waitlist for BCV could be as long as 2 years. There is already talk of a price increase and I am sure you will see another after that...I am not sure why you would be unwilling to do a resale through TSS, there are many people here who would tell you that their experiences were great.

Of course the other issue is depending on you usuage you may not even need to wait. You could always buy SSR with full intentions of never staying there.

Yes, you can waitlist for the sold out resorts. The more flexible with the amount of points and your use year month, the sooner they will become available. Stop by the sales office at SSR or any of the kiosks when you are there and they can help you with more info!

If you are on a waitlist with a deposit ($500 max) then you will lock into the current price per point and not get socked with the increase in June.

I waitlisted to buy in to BWV. Took about a month. I say, if that is what you want, go for it.....don't let people scare you away with tails of long waiting lists. It could take a long time, but in the end, you will be happy.

Thanks for the replies! They were alot of help. I will visit one of the kisoks while down there a go on a wait list because I believe you should buy where you want to stay.

We used the Timeshare Store to buy our BWV resale last summer and the sale could not have gone smoohter. We passed ROFR, got our stuff from DVC, and the deed all very quickly. If you can get your own financing or pay cash, it is a great way to go. DH was like your DH, he only wanted an EPCOT resort. He didn't care which one! I picked BWV because of the BW view and the standard view/less points options. There was a 230 point resale contract and we grabbed it. We do plan to add on in a couple years probably 120-150 points and we may use Disney for that. However if a timeshare store resale comes up with our use year for that number of points we may do it. I would not hesitate to use them again. :flower:

I have to agree with NMW. We bought our points through the Timeshare Store, and the transaction completed within a month. And the point were significantly cheaper than if we bought them through Disney.

When you waitlist through Disney, can you get financing through them?

Are you sure about that? I was on the waitlist for BWV before the last price increase for sold out resorts, from $79 to $84 and there was no price guarantee. My waitlist didn't come through until after the price increase, and I paid $84 per point. DVC doesn't take a deposit when you get on the waitlist, they just take your credit card number. They charge the deposit when the points come through, and not until then, so there is no price locking. You pay the price that the points are currently being sold at, when the points are available.

Rellim, you can get disney financing with the waitlist.

Kmermaid- why wait till you go down there, if you really want a BCV (or think you do) I would waitlist now. We have been on a waitlist for BCV for over a month and I talked to my guide today and she said they have no points in for BCV at all right now, but they do have several use years for BWV right now. We really didn't want to buy through the TSS either but after waiting only a month it seems like forever so we just put a down payment on BCV today with the TSS (we weren't in a hurry either but waiting is much harder than it seems) and the people at TSS couldn't have been more helpful.
Good luck in your decision!
