Waitlist Dilemma - UPDATE Post#5

Due to my horrible tendency to be indecisive, I am now without a room at the inn [DVC Inn that is] for the 2nd week of December [12/9 - 12/14]. Since we can only have 2 WLs now, which DVC property has the most studio units - other than OKW and SSR - which doesn't even have all the nights. At this time, I have waitlisted AKV Jambo Value and AKV Kidani standard - just to be cheap with my points.

If nothing comes up, it's an AP rate for me at a Moderate.

There aren't very many value studios at AKV, so IMO, that's a long shot. The AKV Kidani standards are less plentiful than the AKV Kidani savanna view rooms.

It's late to be looking for a DVC reservation for December and there are undoubtedly others on the waitlist ahead of you, especially for the more popular / smaller resorts.

Your best shot is to waitlist for SSR and OKW. Those are the largest resorts and the ones most likely to have space become available.

That said, there's no way to know what might become available.

It's late to be looking for a DVC reservation for December and there are undoubtedly others on the waitlist ahead of you, especially for the more popular / smaller resorts.

BLT is rather large...although I'm not sure how many rooms they have compared to SSR and OKW. BLT-BL view seems to be plentiful. Of course, BLT in December might be rough.

BWV preferred view might come up as well.

UPDATE: In case anyone is interested for their own trip, I called Thursday and was able to get a studio at SSR for the last 3 nights of my trip [12/11 - 12/14]. Had to waitlist the first 2 nights [12/9 - 12/10] - which just came through a minute ago. Yay me!

Just for fun, I went ahead and waitlisted AKV value or Std. - Kidani. BUT, I have never stayed at SSR so I will not be upset if it doesn't come through. Just trying to save a few points . . . and I do love AKV. Now to figure out what area to request for SSR - at least this part is fun.

How do you get notified that your waitlist came through?

By checking dvcmember.com obsessively. The website will show the minute your waitlist comes through. Only other way to find out is to call MS every now and then or one day you get a confirmation in the mail and you see it must have come through . . . about 2 weeks before.
