recap Booked a last minute trip (37 days out)....made plans..... wanted a 2 bedroom at BCV..... booked solid..... all two bedrooms (except OKW) booked..... We took a 1 bedroom at BWVs..... adjusted plans, made a lot of PS's for that area..... went on waitlist for 2 bedrooms at BCV(first choice), BWV(second choice), and VWL(third choice)......

Waitlist came thru at VWL and since a two bedroom is important to us we adjusted plans, shifted gears...... booked Hoop de do, researched Ft Wilderness's petting zoo etc.......

Well this morning my waitlist for a two bedroom at BWV came thru! YAYAYAY for us!

But for the past couple of days, VWL has really grown on us..... we have never stayed there..... and I will admit to knowing the least about VWL of all the DVC resorts, it never really interested us...... But like I said.... since we thought we were heading there, I planned accordingly.

NOW I am faced with this problem..... (well not a real problem, but you know) do we go with BWV... a tried and true resort, or give VWL chance......

Why didnt I just take myself off the waitlist

Ya know.... as I am typing this, I have figured it out....... We will stick with VWL. We are not doing any parks this trip, so a new resort to explore will be fun. Plus with 39 more years (and zillions more trips to WDW) we have the wonderful chance to explore every DVC resort..... and all the different advantages each has........

So..... should I call them back and let them know I wont be taking the room...... or just not call back and let the system handle is....

Gosh I love DVC!

I would definitely give VWL a try... But be warned, you may develop the uncontrollable urge to add-on there. :teeth:

It truly is a breathtaking resort.

Lucky you! We are wait listed right now for any resort, studio or 1 bdrm. You will love VWL! It's our home resort and it's relaxing, beautiful, they have the music playing around the resort, so when you're sitting on your balcony in the morning enjoying your cup of joe...nothing is better!:teeth:

Have a wonderful trip!

Of all the resorts at WDW, VWL is our favorite. Especially if you're not doing any parks this trip, there is just a TON of stuff to do between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. There's hiking paths and pools and the geyser, and the petting zoo and Whispering Canyon for a great meal.
. . .in all fairness, I should probably mention that's where we own.

You crack me up! haha
Stay at VWL I have heard nothing but good things and variety is always welcome. have fun, don't worry, it will make you grow old!

Stick with WLV. We stayed at WLV in June for the first time and loved it. It's the kind of place where you find something new every day that you didn't notice before. The music, the smells they pipe in and lodge is absolutely wonderful.

Enjoy VWL. That area is a wonderful place to explore. They have a special tour of the resort, (or at least of WL) that describes the architecture, landscaping, artwork, etc. Explore the upper floors and the secluded areas with fireplaces and comfortable seating. There are evening cruises that take in the MK fireworks. And then there is the ever popular Electric Boat Pageant -- go down to the boat dock around 9:30 pm, acutally you need to get their earlier to get a good seat. It lasts about 10 minutes and is a true Disney Classic! Artist Point is a great restaurant and Wilderness Canyon Cafe is a wild place for fun and food. Did I mention all of the boating rentals and the geyser and the themed pool and the path to walk to FW?

Enjoy your trip.

I think you are wise to keep your reservation at VWL.

I kind of like the place. :)

Thanks everyone...... I called and canceled my waitlist for all the resorts...... VWL will work out nicely for this trip....

Maistre Gracey..... we will NOT be adding on there, No matter what!

JimC......... that tour sounds wonderful, but with our young ones, it would be hellish..... trust me! LOL

I am sooo siked......

Well, since you're going to stay there, you've got to check out the deserts at WL Canyon. They've got this wonderful glazed banana/flour tortilla with HagnDas Ice Cream........can't wait to have that again. And they can always serve it "to go."
