waitlist 30-60 day out chances

I have a (cash) reservation at all star music for nov 6-9 and I waitlisted AKV and OKW for that same period. I know because it's the last week of f&w and the first week of MVMCP that the chances are slim that it will come thru (and I am STALKING the availability tool for even a day or two at any dvc to pop up)

My question is, because it is less than 60 days out but not yet 30, is this like, prime time for cancellations or has that window passed?

Airfare for that weekend in the northeast is out of control because NJ schools have off so I'm still thinking people that can't get the airfare they want may cancel. I never did a wait list before so I'm not sure if they come thru very often.

I had this situation last year for around the same week and was able to pull together a reservation in about the same timeframe. I booked an AP rate for a 5 night BWV studio and then waitlisted for DVC. I stalked the reservation website and nights 3, 4, 5 came open, I booked them and changed the waitlist to nights 1 & 2. Then night 2 came open, I booked it and changed the waitlist to just night 1. Night 1 came through on the waitlist at 28 days prior. Member Services took all 3 reservations and combined them into 1. I then cancelled the AP reservation.

Thanks for that reassurance! I'll just keep checking myself then and hopefully I can piece this whole thing together right.

You are running into the end of F&W and the Wine and Dine Half Marathon on that weekend. It's going to make it hard to get.

Anyone who is going to cancel will probably do it at least 31 days or more out to keep their points from going into holding.

Good luck. I agree, you need to stalk. We needed a 1 bedroom for November 8th (1 night). We went on a waitlist and did get it. But it took about 6 weeks for it to come through and that was at okw.

I wait listed BLT at the 7 month mark for our oct 11-16 trip and just found out today that it came through!!! I was shocked!!! So it can happen!

Wow! Congrats, I have a waitlist pending for 10/27-10/31. Already have OKW booked.

I have a one night wait list to fill in my one missing day for an upcoming trip for the tail end of the F&W festival. Tomorrow is the 31 day mark so I am hoping that the wait list will come through.

We were trying to get four days near the end of October checked early September and nothing was available . I did what Debbie suggested
booked a cash reservation to hold the days but watched the DVC website
and picked up a day here and there till they all came through so keep looking
each day. We also waitlisted and we finally got all the days a couple of weeks ago .It is possible.
